is what Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis once called the
States. You know those places were either We the People prefer to live
or our domiciled since birth.Phyllis Schlafly,a highly intelligent
    and determined career conservative { 90 yrs.old }
    spoke this past week :
    - ' Gay Marriage ' Advocates Want To ' Wipe Out ' Christianlty.
And they are succeeding. Now 3 dozen states have already legitimized
    Same Sex Marriage.
Schlafly, author of - Who Killed The American Family ? -
noted that " throughout human history, marriage has been defined as
the union of a man and woman.Even the Ancient Greeks who tolerated
" gay " couples did not allow them to marry."
Given this long standing within history,Schlafly finds it appalling
that unelected jurists would have the final say in defining the Institution
    known historically as marriage.
She is right to profess that Our Supreme Court exists not to make
law but rather to Interpret the law. With an All-American Olympic
intellectual reflexive bent towards how Our Founders viewed a Supreme
Court." The Founding Fathers thought the Supreme Court would be the
weakest of the branches of government because it doesn't have any money
of it's own and it doesn't have any guns. "
It is as obvious as a pimple on a wart's hogs snout that federal Judges
are acting as radical activist.Flaunting and defliling the very will of the
people. This rule by judges smacks of a new kind of Potentate.
Phyllis Schlafly knows and knows best.

    " I come down here,for instance,and find a
    mighty potentate exacting homage."
    - Bleak House - by Dickens

Are you kidding? The Supreme Morons are the laughing stocks of the universe! Everyone the whole entire planet (including America) is pointing at those idiots laughing their individual and collective arses off. First they tell us buildings are people, then they tell us money is speech..... it's like no, you moron, that's commerce, anytime money changes hands that's commerce and you'd have to be completely vacant to confuse that with the stuff that comes out of your mouth.

And as a result of that idiotic ruling, we have Hillary Clinton raising money from foreigners and using foreign PACs to launder the money before it gets funneled into her campaign coffers. The Supreme f**king Morons said this was okay! They specifically said there is no demonstrable ill effect from money on our political process. These people are that stupid, they actually said that. In writing.

This has to be the single worst Court we've ever had in this country's entire existence.

Protectors of liberty and the Constitution they're not.

America's chance at liberty failed before most people think it began to exist. It died in 1787 when the fascist, centralized constitution was proposed. The Articles of Confederation were the height of American liberty.

American history since ratification has been one of continual decline: the Sedition Act, the rejection of nullification, the civil war, reconstruction, the progressive era, the new deal, the new society, and the age of hope and chance. Never again will that chance be offered. You blew it.

You failed. Sorry. In fairness, not many have succeeded.

It what you wrote were true { Obviously it's not } then why have so many
people's from around the globe sought out the United States.
Many many Italians have settled in America and many many city's have
their Little Italys. Where at one point in History Italy { Under Mussolini } was
    the Centre of Fascism.

What the Supreme Court determined is that Corporations are People also.
Unless one thinks Corporations and Companies aren't run by People.
Why shouldn't a Corporation have the ability to voice their opinion by
donating to candidates they prefer to support. In short ... Corporations are
    people also.
BTW ... When you own as little as one share of common stock in a Company
or Corportation you have Voting rights. You will receive a Proxy ballot to vote.
That is American. That is Free Enterprise.Someone needs to ask President Obama
and Elizabeth Warren if they like that idea'r.That as a common stock shareholder they have
Rights. To Vote and attend a shareholder meeting.
I mean, under this POTUS Iron thumb even Senators aren't allowed to attend
secret closed door sessions concerning a Trade Agreement. How American is that.
They even have to be sequestered if they want to read a page of that Trade bill
at a time.Unlike ObamaCare which was done In secret { " We have to pass the bill
    so that you can find out what is in it ". }

The rest of the world is even more (*)(*)(*)(*)ed up. The US remains one of the most free nations on Earth. Earth is a totalitarian place.

Besides, I was speaking more from a Federalist perspective. The US abandoned federalism in favor of a sovereign national government.

What you fail to understand is the citizens role in the process. The founding fathers created a brilliant system, but it was dependent on educated and involved citizens to make it work. Or as Benjamin Franklin said " a republic... if you can keep it."

The brilliance of the system was that through the Judicial System, the ultimate power remained with the "people".
To understand this you must realize that Congress can write a law, the SCOTUS can interpret the law, but it is ultimately the citizen who judges and enforces the law... or not. The vehicle by which they do this through the jury system.

The government can create a law, they can arrest someone for not obeying the law, but if the jury in their wisdom decides the law in unjust, they can set the person free, and no government official up to and including the President can do a damn thing about it.
The process is called jury nullification, and if you do not understand it please do some research and learn what it is all about.

The jury has an “unreviewable and irreversible power... to acquit in disregard of the instructions on the law given by the trial judge... The pages of history shine on instances of the jury’s exercise of its prerogative to disregard uncontradicted evidence and instructions of the judge; for example, acquittals under the fugitive slave law.
U.S. v. Dougherty, D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, 1972, 473 F.2d at 1130 and 1132. (Nevertheless, the majority opinion held that jurors need not be told this. Dissenting Chief Judge Bazelon thought that they ought to be so told.)

“If the jury feels the law is unjust, we recognize the undisputed power of the jury to acquit, even if its verdict is contrary to the law as given by a judge, and contrary to the evidence... If the jury feels that the law under which the defendant is accused is unjust, or that exigent circumstances justified the actions of the accused, or for any reason which appeals to their logic or passion, the jury has the power to acquit, and the courts must abide by that decision.”
    United States v. Moylan, 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, 1969, 417 F.2d at 1006.

Our Founder's { Great men all } went to Olympian efforts to SPELL OUT
exactly what this Republic should be.Yes when we took a turn away from being
a Republic and more towards a Democratic society things took a turn.
    It was first ventured into by The leading Progressive of his day { Woodrow Wilson}
then doubled down Big Time by F.D.R. Warren Harding got the country out of the
mess that Wilson put us in { The Depression of 1920-21 } as we entered into
    the Roaring Twenties.
Then Eisenhower had to straighten out the mess of F.D.R. and Truman.
Reagan had to clean up the incompetent Jimmy Carter years.
Bush 43 had to put back together what Newt Gingrich's new Republican
Majority started in 1994.Clinton handed Bush 43rd a Recession and a
tumbling stock market { Tech sector and Internet burst }.
Bush 43 resolved the Clinton-inherited Recession in similar fashion as
did Warren Harding resolved the Woodrow Wilson inherited Depression of 1920.
Both Harding and Bush used tax Cuts for all.It also generated record level
of revenue to the Treasury.Obama has also benefitted with record levels of
revenues to the Treasury but is the most incompetent manager of Debt this
Country has ever witnessed. He is doing it on Purpose.

If you really believe the US abandoned federalism, then you need to go back and re study history. In the battle between Republicans and Federalists, the Federalists won and have been making huge strides ever since.

So then explain the thrust of this OP by answering. How have Federal Judges
{ Activist Judges } helped the will of the people. All those states that have
legalized same-sex marriage LOST any ballot initiatives by popular consent.
Even in California Prop 8 { Eliminates Rights of Same Sex Couples to marry }.
    Was Passed.
What in Sam Hill has JURY NULLIFICATION to do with
Federal Judges { Unelected } deciding For the People what constitutes Marriage.

This once great and proud land is being overtaken by Graft and Bureauocrats
beholdin' to the Love of the almighty dollar.Obama is Buying up the Country.
First the Blue states with the $ 862 Billion Stimulus where only $ 9
Billion went towards Infrastructure.Blue States got stimulus to keep from
letting go Union types like the Teachers Union { SEIU }.
Hollywood { controls the culture } and The Mainstream media got grafted.
Big business involved in Agriculture { Monsanto } was further grafted.
As was Silicon Valley. It was a Hijacking of the Country where Certain Big
Banks and Wall Street types made out like Bandits.Smaller banks folded.
More Billionaires and Millionaires created under Obama than ever before in
    History.
: " It is of great importance in a republic not only
to guard the society against the oppression of it's rulers, but to guard one
part of socisty against the injustice of the other part.
If men were angels,no government would be necessary ."

Same sex marriage is simply one issue that is used to distract the public from the core issue.
Marriage in general is not an issue that the government has any jurisdiction over. That is the real issue. Show me anywhere in a State or Federal Constitution where any government anywhere is given the power by the people to have jurisdiction over personal relationships?
The people need to learn to tell the government to go screw itself when it comes to issues like this and if the government tries to prosecute people in areas where it has no jurisdiction then it is the juries responsibility to nullify. The same is true with all so called "victimless crimes".

Schlafly is a drooling imbecile and so is her son.

Now that we have that out of the way, I'd like to say that the very concept of state's rights is kind of pointless. If it's an important law, it belongs on a federal level. Human rights have no business being left up to individual ratification by states. Especially Alabama. Alabama would be a third world nation by now. If it's an important law, who gives two (*)(*)(*)(*)s?

State's rights add nothing of value to the world and are usually a code word for "I'm desperately trying to scramble for any remaining excuse to argue against laws ensuring human rights are protected".

This is a republic. You can't vote against human rights. If a majority tried to vote slavery back in, it'd get the same response from the Supreme Court.

You seem to want two wolves and a rabbit to vote on dinner.

I don't really care about the will of the people if that will is in opposition to human decency.

They said that the spending of money on speech is free speech. Just because you have a loudspeaker, which costs money, doesn't mean that you aren't exercising free speech when you use it. As far as declaring corporations people, again, these are legal rulings. Only a "legal person" can sue or be sued - to say that a corporation isn't a legal person means they are immune to lawsuits. I mean, unless that's what you want...

So bribery is free speech? Who was to know that George Orwell would become the worlds foremost prophet.
Political language... is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.

And the Articles were an abject failure as a government. The U.S. as a nation was coming apart at the seams and several states were on the brink of war with each other, notably NY and PA (with interventions by Conn, and Vt.) Read up on the Pennamite–Yankee War which was fought intermittently between 1769 and 1799. The Gov. under the Articles attempted to settle the dispute but was completely unable to enforce the settlement, since it had no power to enforce it's decisions.

As this thread would seem to indicate, many people are quick to condemn courts when rulings don't agree with their beliefs. Schlafley is no different. The courts are doing what they are supposed to do.

There ARE Discrimination Laws ON THE BOOKS.
Gays are no longer discriminated against.Which in itself is sheer folly.
Gays discriminate against straights as a matter of course. In fact to be Gay
means to go against being Straight { Heterosexual } which last I checked was
the norm in Society or to be Straight.Gays encompass around 3-5% of the
Populace.Yet their voice is supposed to supercede Both a Majority of society
as well history. No one is attempting to DENY Gays human Rights.
It is Not NOW nor ever has been a Right for Gays to Marriage.
Unless you { your highness can cite precedent }.States have same sex
    unions.Marriage is strictly defined.
Stop acting like You own Society and History.
To the Victor go the Spoils.Gays want to circumvent that rule.
They want to Brat their way into Victory.Because by and large Gays are now
    the new spoiled pampered class.

Certainly mush ignurnce being spread as if cow manure
in reply's.Activist Judges were never intended to be the final
arbiter of States Rights. That decision has to be on a ballot.Like
    electing a representative.Like Prop 8 in California.

Civil marriage grants tax benefits, and banning same sex marriage is a de facto stripping of the right to have access to these benefits.

Lobbyists, and PAC's who exchange votes for cash are bribing politicians. The Supreme Court calls that bribery free speech.
