America is dead. Now in its place is a cesspool of every possible vice. And it's just awful.
I used to love America. I saw the United States as a country populated by hard-working, kind, a little adventurous, but always ready to help. Where everyone could realize their abilities. Now, of course, I realize that my perception of the United States is more of a perception through the prism of Hollywood and great, without exaggeration, American literature, but still - the United States was a great country. And Theodore Dreiser, Mark Twain, Jack London...and many other, great in the full sense of the word, writers of course described those Americans they saw around them. And they were really People with a capital letter.
And today I am bitter to see what has become, or rather degenerated, those Americans who were admired.
It is enough to look at the President of the USA and his entourage with synthetic snouts and empty heads to realize that America is dead. And now the heroes of Jack London's novels are akin to ancient Greek myths - beautiful, but not real.
So, today we should hang a black-framed atlas of the United States. I'm sorry.

 

Worry not. America is alive and well outside the big metro areas. This just the common result of too many people living too close together for too long. They're also legalizing theft and defunding police, chasing out the grocers, banning cars and replacing healthcare with death care... basically isolating and destroying themselves. Suicide cultists are only ever a temporary problem. We'll get past it.

Mutilating and sterilizing a child as well as forcing them on to life time medication is abusing a child. Especially since children cannot consent.

 

We just have too much government. Way too much. When government starts getting involved with nonsense like this then it should becomes obvious to anyone. We now suffer the worst administration ever in my 79 years of life. One day someone .will come along that actually wants a smaller government and gain power. At that point I will return to the voting booth, something I abandoned long ago since my vote could only help what I think is wrong with America.

My boy told me he wanted to be a pirate for Halloween but the next day he put the costume on again and when I asked him why he liked it so much he just looked at me and he said.....ahhggrrrr !!!

So we're going to take him down tomorrow and have a doctor pluck and eyeball out and cut off one of his legs and one of his hands so he can have a peg leg and a hook and a real pirate's eye patch.

Fear not because the vast majority of Americans are still rational people who realize how abnormal such an agenda is, they still fully understand this.

 

It appears the rightwing is finally figuring this out. But its a STATE issue now (as it should be until you have a ConCon about it), so unless someone is running on trying to change that, I don't think it's going to effect 2024 much. And anyone running on national abortion restrictions deserves to lose.

...that being said, if it comes down to voting for gun rights or voting for abortion rights, I'll be voting for gun rights. Sadly I'm often left in my state with no choice but one or the other...

I'm very much pro life. Thats why I support using guns to defend innocent life against violent criminals. Its just that I'm also perfectly capable of not getting an abortion without govt interference.

Just tell 'your friend' to defend their children instead of aborting them.

Yeah, if a child wakes up one morning and says he wants to be a cat, should the parent:
a. Laugh and say "that's so cute...but you can't be a cat honey", or
b. Say "well get down and walk on all fours and tomorrow we'll take you to a plastic surgeon and they can cut your ears so they're all pointed and stand up."
Good God.

Don't be so sure. Parents are actually listening to their college kids and taking what they say seriously. I recently had a discussion with a retiring age friend who spouted off the trans points her college grad daughter told her. It's truly amazing how far people who used to be sane will go to humor their children.

But worry not, because in another year the worries we'll have will transcend the cultural crap. That's the only silver lining.
