She became a much better candidate after she had pretty much cooked her goose. I think he'll choose her. No such animal exists in the Democratic Party.
Bass is articulate, but only a Representative. She still has a chance to define herself on domestic issues. Rice is tough and very bright. A better choice than Bass. I think Harris has it unless Joe doesn't like her for some reason. She really improved as a candidate after she knew her moment had passed. Maybe she relaxed. They asked the finance minister of Canada a couple of months ago what he thought his job was. "Keeping food on Canadians' tables," he declared. That's the kind of folks we need. I think Rice and Harris are both okay.
I just think that Rice is a Non-Starter because the Twitter Troll Squad would be hammering her on things that happened under Obama. Why give the RW that kind of easy ammo? I still say Harris until I hear different.
I don't think Joe would consider Rice if they saw her background as a fatal flaw, but you're right about her being a target.
Stuff like THIS... https://www.politico.com/news/2020/...-email-sent-on-trumps-inauguration-day-267998 ...Would become front and center. And the Twitter Troll Squad will grab onto it like a Pitbull and won't let go.
Hope Joe doesn't overthink this thing He clearly values loyalty in a VP, but given his age, the number one qualification has to be someone who is ready to step into the presidency from day one. So, unless they dug up nude pics of her on some porn site or something, in my view, he's gotta go with sitting senator Kamy...
Who cares? If the party does not adopt Progressive policies there will be another Trump down the road. And it doesn't appear that they will. The party platform is Republican-lite corporate owned.
She is still grating and condescending when she speaks and burned her bridge with the racist attack on Biden. Of course if she plays like Biden and does few appearances and only on friendly networks who will not hold her to the fire............ Unfortunately there are no old school Democrats out there anymore.
Like "In a 2012 Maureen Dowd column, an unidentified Obama-administration colleague painted her post-Benghazi appearances on the Sunday morning talk shows as dishonest and driven by ego. “She saw this as a great opportunity to go out and close the stature gap. She was focused on the performance, not the content. People said, ‘It’s sad because it was one of her best performances.’ But it’s not a movie, it’s the news. Everyone in politics thinks, you just get your good talking points and learn them and reiterate them on camera. But what if they’re not good talking points? What if what you’re saying isn’t true, even if you’re saying it well?”" https://www.nationalreview.com/2020/07/susan-rice-twenty-things-you-probably-didnt-know-about-her/
This kind "In a December 2013 interview with 60 Minutes, Rice declared, “The fact that we have not had a successful attack on our homeland since 9/11 should not be diminished.” The Boston Marathon bombing, which killed three people and injured 264 others, had occurred eight months earlier." https://www.nationalreview.com/2020/07/susan-rice-twenty-things-you-probably-didnt-know-about-her/ She sounds like Biden trying to relate history.
I think there's an element of truth here, but that tends to be the pattern with partisan types on either side. Sorta like Trump on Fox News? Joe Manchin.
And the bolded is a perfect example of the same "she is a female" misogynistic dog whistle attacks that trump and his allies have desperately been seeking in biden's VP selection because they can't use those attacks against Biden himself. Can't wait to see the racist dog whistle attacks when it is revealed the VP is a minority as well.
And the above is a perfect example of women must be treated equally until they are treated equally misogynistic dog whistles.
Except Dowd writes for and has for decades in the NYT. And from the Washington Post "A Dana Milbank column in 2012 described Rice’s interactions with colleagues as combative and sometimes unprofessional. “Back when she was an assistant secretary of state during the Clinton administration, she appalled colleagues by flipping her middle finger at Richard Holbrooke during a meeting with senior staff at the State Department, according to witnesses. Colleagues talk of shouting matches and insults.”"
Trump talks with the Press constantly especially the MSM. Poor Joe, I think he had his chance to switch parties, he'll go no where remaining a Democrat these days.
