Left Trashes the Constitution Giving Them Freedom to Do So

These days all kinds of ridiculous things are said against America, the Pledge of Allegiance, the flag, and our history. Now, one leftist reporter calls the Constitution “trash.” It should be thrown away and replaced with something “more inclusive.”

Elie Mystal who is the “Justice correspondent” for The Nation, said on “The View” recently, “The Constitution is kind of trash.”

This was not a momentary aberration. On another outlet, a reporter asked him, “[A]re you arguing that the Constitution needs to be scrapped altogether?”

He replied:

Sure … But, I don’t think that’s going to happen. Like, if we could throw that out and start over with a new document that was more inclusive of everybody, that was written by everybody — at no point have Black people, brown people or women had a say in actually writing the Constitution or the amendments to that Constitution — if we could throw that out and have a delegation of all Americans to write a new one, I would be all for that.

Mystal also tweeted that he was proud to trigger “white wing media this morning by noting that their slaver’s organizing document is trash.”

How is it that the most durable government document in history, producing the most freedom for the most people the world has ever seen, “trash”?

Millions of would-be refugees would love to come here to live in America, while many of our citizens exemplify what I have called “The Era of the Ungrateful American.”…

The article author is right on here about this issue. Immigrants that come here legally, love the country, our freedoms, and constitution. Domestically born secular progressives have nothing but contempt for everything about America. CRT and 1619 propaganda are proof positive of contempt those who advocate them have for our way of life.

I wouldn't be totally opposed to a rewrite but I wouldn't call it trash. I'd like to base the new one on it largely, but a rewrite would let us take out the repulsive slavery language, and streamline the amendments accordingly. Practical changes I'd like to see could be accomplished through the amendment process really, but it'd be nice to not see that 3/5ths of a person trash in my constitution anymore.

Is it worth letting our current political minds write it though? That I'm not so sure about.

 

Fortunately it takes 3/4 of all the states, 38 of 50 to change this constitution or approve another.

 

Our Constitution is THE Greatest document ever written by man for mankind. That it isn't revered by ALL Americans is inconceivable to me, but it's unfair to put all the blame for that irreverence, or even mostly, on Liberal AmeriCANs. It wasn't Liberals that attacked OUR Capitol to attempt to overturn a free and fair Presidential election. It isn't Liberals that want to do away with Government by the People in favor of autocratic dictatorship by "individual one'. There is plenty of blame to go around, it's disingenuous of the OP's article to presume to only blame the "left".

I agree that it's a great thing that the founders had the forsight to make it VERY difficult to change or abandon our, most precious, Constitution.

 

So you mean that just because this one individual said something doesn't make the Constitution null and void?

If the progressive left can’t support the constitution and love our great nation and accept that it is an exceptional one, we have nothing to say to them.

 

I think when a fellow American, left, right or independent is finding it hard to "support the Constitution" then THAT IS the time to reach out and foster understanding. Because lack of understanding is the only reason an American wouldn't love and support our Great founding document, the architecture for mankind's freedom; OUR Constitution!

 

Progressives since Woodrow Wilson have belittled the constitution and called it antiquated. Barack Hussein Obama was critical of it because it only states what government can’t do to us and not what it must do for us.

 

And yet it was Conservatives that attacked our Capitol and tried to overturn a free and fair election. An act of disdain for everything our country stands for, including our Constitution, that was unthinkable to ANY "Progressive", and a horror of such magnitude that could never be imagined by "Progressives" prior to January 6th 2021.

 

So why are certain states calling for another Constitutional Convention, as mentioned in Article 5? There are currently 22 states that have passed state legislation calling for another Constituional Convention. All of those states happen to be deep Red States. Isn't that also trashing the Constitution as well?

The storming of the capitol was a deep state inside job to advance their own propaganda as it was federal officers and agents who instigated and led the crowd to act irrationally.

How did they get then President Trump to fire up the crowd?
If he was being set up why didn't he react and shut it down immediately?
How did they get all of those Republicans to vote against certifying the election?
If they were set up why are they opposed to an investigation that would absolve them and indict the deep state?
Why are so many people still trying to overturn the election?

 

Then why is the Right fighting inquiries into the 1/6 tooth and nail ? Why aren't their representatives, including those from the past administration , assisting ?
