The decision that was ignored, was ignored during a time when the united states attorney general, and even the president of the united states, were openly defying court orders directing them to perform specific actions.

Meanwhile a judge has decided that Arpaio' s pardon wouldn't be drowned out by hurricane Harvey, but all his vile washing will be publicly exposed in October at her hearing the WH reasons to pardon him.

Seems not many trumpettes are concerned that Twitler and his gang can't tell a pardon from a commutation. Not that they can either.

    Or that it really matters.

I say get rid of the pardon/commutation allowance all together.

So who is guilty of murder when it comes to the suicide rates of our soldiers? If there is any money in the budget to improve conditions for prisoners, we should use it for those risking their lives for us; not criminals.

After all the negative publicity from the courts, of course.

I am more concerned about the use of court actions for political reasons than I am about Joe Arpaio. The actions of the 9th circuit court, after Trump's win showed what the public clearly wanted in the way of enforcing our borders, set a very dangerous precedent.

This doesn't sound like enforcing border laws to me:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/25/u...-of-rights-by-sheriff-joe-arpaio.html?mcubz=0

"Many of the people targeted were American citizens or legal residents."

".....arbitrary detention of many law-abiding citizens and legal residents."

Very true, but jails are different from prisons. Do you believe that a person who is awaiting trial for a crime they have not been convicted of deserves to go to a "concentration camp" as he himself called it?

I addressed this ... somewhere. Anyway, "tent city" was reserved for gang members, and violent detainees. It was a means of isolating agressive "personalities" in order to protect "casual" detainees housed in county jail. Traffic offenders, and the alike, are victimized by the more predatory types Joe housed in "tent city".

    In Spain we don't imprison 85 year-olds.

" To detain them, the ruling said, the deputies must also have reasonable suspicion that the occupants are violating the state’s human-trafficking and employment laws or committing other crimes."

In other words, the court tried to make it illegal to simply enforce border laws.

They may not have been criminals. He just grabbed the good and bad because he didn't like Mexicans. His brutality likely was
responsible, if he ran a concentration camp as he has admitted too.

So are you saying he had his police force go around detaining anyone who looked Mexican who was just minding his own business? Or did he ask for ID from someone who broke the law and detained those who didn't have any? I've seen stats that say 1/2 the people detained were found to be illegal.

I don't know that the public clearly wanted, only that the Trump base clearly wanted. And I don't see a political reason, only Apairo's
    blatant abuse of his office.

Dude, as a centrist, I see zealots on both sides flinging poo-poo at each other the same way constantly.

It's not reserved to one side.

LOL, it's so ****ing bad here in fact, in multiple threads, I'm accused of being a Conservative Nazi, & a Liberal Hippy a LOT.....many times, in the same ****ing thread!

This place really gets me shaking my head most days.

This is a tricky one. This is a low level local law enforcement being caught in federal politics. I dislike a lot about the sheriff, but I felt in this case, the judge was oppressive. The problem is much deeper than holding a sheriff responsible for upholding laws he swore to uphold. I condemn the laws but not the lonely man caught in the middle.

True, but the thread is about using Pres. Obama as an excuse.

    Who said it was.

    Yep it does.

    Trump is a MORON.

An UNPREPARED IMBECILE whose election was an EGREGIOUS MISTAKE.

He has the mentality of 9-year-old yelling "Na-Na-Na" on the playground

His "explanations" are just more of the same self-serving IDIOTIC BS.

    At this point:

Trump (or anyone "defending" him) is completely unworthy of being taken seriously.

    Case closed. :salute:

The act that landed them in jail was voluntary as well. Now what?

This was never about Mexican people; it was about enforcing existing immigration laws. What evidence can you provide to support your claim "he didn't like Mexicans"?
