This thread is a game of sorts. = Each Day, someone should post a statement that they think EVERYONE can agree on regardless of their political leaning. = The Statement should have the Date before it and be in Red font. = Once a Statement has been made for the day, the rest of the replies that day should be a personal AGREEMENT/DISAGREEMENT with the statement and any supporting reasoning....and whoever has the first chance the next day can post a new statement. .........Let's see if there is common ground after all...... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3/6/2012 - Iran building their own nuclear warheads and ICBMs would be unacceptable to the United States.
It would be unacceptable, but I really don't see the US doing anything about it, but play lip service.
I personally agree when taking into the context of American Imperialism and trying to keep Despots under their control across the Globe. Having another country go Nuclear would definitely upset the control the US Government has over the Middle East and that's probably a good thing.
Unacceptable maybe, but there's nothing we can do about it, short of going to war. And, war is an unacceptable option.
That's actually a good one. Don't forget the date...and to comment on the first statement. Agree. This seems indisputable to me. Even if you have questions about his origins or think the birth certificate is a fake, you almost have to accept that Obama is acting president of the U.S.
Unacceptable. Ahdimabulb and Chavez have/are talking nuclear in Vz. This is well beyond sabre rattling.
Date? Meaning inauguration day or election day? I just chose the next numerical presidential increment and the indisputable fact that he is, acting or not, the US President.
No..just the basic few rules I posted in the OP......red font.....preceded by date. At first I thought one per day, but I think that doesn't really matter.
I disagree with that one. Their intent, IMO, is simply to get re-elected and stay in power. The means toward that end are not always something that divides us. I would argue instead the general nature of their pursuit of re-election reflects their cowardice and demonstrates that they generally lack the ability to actually address and vote on things that require hard, unpopular choices. They hit the softballs and duck the hardballs.
Yes ... Iran have nuclear weapons are a threat to the world and then will be handled as such. Next BTW ... I can see why they are ignoring the obvious POTUS Post I made ...
Agreed. They are not interested in dividing us per se. We do that without any help. But they certianly do not work for the best interests of the country. Hell, most of time they don't even know what that is. They have a single goal: Staying in office. Everything else falls in behind that. That is the real reason we are $15 trillion in debt. Because they figured out if they provide a full service Nanny State, but don't insist anyone pay for it, they get to stay in office. Is that good for America? Hell no it's not. But you keep the monied interests happy and you throw the taxpayer some benefits they do not pay for and life is good on the Hill.
Ok, lets solve the budget crisis by slashing entitlements and drastically cutting social welfare programs. I think we can all agree on that.
Really? You think everyone can agree on that? Drastically Cutting Medicare, Social Security, Welfare, etc? Really? http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2012/03/04/Poll-Most-dont-want-Social-Security-cuts/UPI-76871330900339/ Really?
