Watching the Democrat Debacle you would think Trump defunded the CDC. All the children running for the Democrat nomination lied. Here's the Operating Plan starting with the last Obama budget, operating plan for FY2017

    CDC Operating Plan
    2017 $7,200,723,000 inherited
    2018 $8,296,239,000
    2019 $7,324,782,000
    2020 $7,969,793,000

Are these people disgusting or are they disgusting?

Democrats’ disgraceful dissembling only increases coronavirus threat
    By Post Editorial Board

    February 28, 2020

In a clear sign that they’re not truly worried about the COVID-19 threat, many Democrats are using it as another club to hit President Trump — facts be damned.

At Tuesday’s debate, Mike Bloomberg smugly asserted, “There’s nobody here to figure out what the hell we should be doing.” Trump, he claimed, has “defunded Centers for Disease Control, CDC, so we don’t have the organization we need.”

Joe Biden chimed in: “He cut the funding for the entire effort.”

It’s a lie that can only sow fear: The CDC budget is higher than when Trump took office. Same for the National Institutes of Health. And top career officials from both have been working with the White House for weeks to direct the US response.

Elizabeth Warren, meanwhile, insisted the administration “is absolutely bumbling the response to coronavirus” — with no details, because she can’t point to any Team Trump mistakes, unless she wants to complain about the COVID-19 travel bans.

“The administration has no plan to deal with the coronavirus,” Chuck Schumer thundered on the Senate floor. Not true.

As The Associated Press reports, “The public-health system has a playbook to follow for pandemic preparation — regardless of who’s president or whether specific instructions are coming from the White House. Those plans were put into place in anticipation of another flu pandemic, but are designed to work for any respiratory-borne disease.”

The AP also quotes John Auerbach, president of the nonpartisan Trust for America’s Health: “The CDC’s response has been excellent, as it has been in the past.” Auerbach also notes that CDC’s top scientific ranks have remained stable during the past three years.

The AP’s headline, by the way: “AP FACT CHECK: Democrats distort coronavirus readiness.”

Some Democrats don’t even want to hear the facts. Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) disrupted a closed-door Friday meeting with officials from the CDC, NIH and State Department by launching into a tirade about the administration’s supposed failings. Several Republicans walked out. And Democratic Rep. Donna Shalala, a former US health secretary, told Politico, “No one wanted to hear that, either the Democrats or Republicans. We just wanted to hear the substance.”

Quit playing politics, folks. Spreading false information can only undermine the nation’s efforts to face a potential pandemic. It’s beyond shameful.

Democrats should be embarrassed, but haven't shown the integrity.

Trump's budget included a 16% reduction in funding for the CDC

He also eliminated a top position who would be very important is dealing with epidemics

The man he has placed in charge of this is Mike Pence, who has already been responsible for an AIDS outbreak in his Home State.

Additionally, the man he wants in charge of Homeland Security is clearly incompetent for the job. Was he Ivanka's wedding planner or what?

There is a better chance that a tortoise will out run a cheetah than a Democratic politician will be honest.

I post the CDC's operating plans and you post the hoax being pushed out to the gullible by the media, and you're not embarrassed:

    https://www.cdc.gov/budget/fy2020/operating-plans.html

I'm going with the CDC's numbers, if you don't mind.

Why would they be talking about his proposed budget, and not the one that he signed into law?

And how was Mike Pence responsible for people shooting up drugs? Pence actually declared a state of emergency and set up a needle exchange

One hoax after another. They can't win in November. At some point promoting this free drivel has to be considered campaign finance violations.

And from my reading it was the democrats that rejected Trumps proposed budget cuts

But it was not the CDC that held the special pandemic taskforce

Trump signed the budget into law.

the CDC has a pandemic task force.

what trump fired was a team Obama put together in the White House, lead by a dem political operative to handle the Ebola outbreak that lasted for three years and killed 11k.

And was exactly the taskforce needed now, we know that SARS has not gone away and could return, Ebola makes regular returns not to mention many other zoological diseases

Australia has and has had since the H1N1 virus, a stockpile of over 100 million dollars worth of drugs and PPE on standby for an outbreak such as this. Pandemic response teams are essential if you do not want to get caught with your pants down around your ankles

Suddenly facts matter to Trump followers?

Really? After 3 years it suddenly dawns on them that all Trump’s lies and exaggerations might be setting a stage for more lies on both sides?

"Alternative facts" thankee. I remember one Trumper saying it was like the weather prediction giving a percentage as to whether it will rain, ignoring the fact that what the weather talks about is going to happen tomorrow, while what Trump was referring to took place last week.

On one of the talking heads shows one guy said that Trump's response to this epidemic was like having completely different fire departments set up each and every separate time you have a fire.

Thus is life under a stable genius.

You left out three departments. The pandemic task force wasn’t just CDC or as noted a single unit in WH.

You need to gather all the facts. This is how conspiracy theories start and how right wing media operates. Shameful.

Politifact? How about the CDC? The hoax was that Trump reduced the CDC budget and because of that key people were booted. That is worse than a hoax. It's a prototypical Democrat lie. How a President learns about the justification for funds has nothing to do with the funding levels or staffing he ultimately signs off on. The CDC is what it was and dealt with the coronavirus the same way they deal with any potential pandemic. Those were the words of the CDC principals, who are not political appointees. No President tells the CDC how to do their job, although the President ultimately is accountable. I would expect my President to challenge the status quo so he knows why our tax money is being spent the way it is.

There were right wingers on stage at the Democrat debate that claimed that Trump cut the CDC budget? BTW, the budget proposal was released March 11, 2019. Congress couldn't get their job done before September 30, 2019, so there was a continuing resolution. The "right wingers" on stage at the Democrat debate claimed that Trump wanted to cut the CDC budget in the middle of the coronavirus outbreak. Was there a coronavirus outbreak in March 2019?

The board will accept the CDC figures as the truth all other statistics posted will be seen as the lies they are.
