Life begins at conception, but is that life really conscious? A pig is as intelligent as a 3-year-old, and we brutally slaughter them in the millions regularly without even thinking about it, the unborn child is not intelligent, it is simply a human-to-be, to say that abortion is murder is like saying that cracking an egg is equivalent to killing a chicken.
And to say that the life is precious simply because it is a human, the world is overpopulated, and another citizen whose parents are not even ready for parenthood is a VERY bad idea.
Think about it, a college student who gets an unintended pregnancy from a broken condom during a one-night-stand have 4 options:
    1. Get an abortion, problem solved.
    2. Give birth and give the child away for adoption with thousands of others orphans still waiting in overcrowded nurseries.
    3. Give birth and drop out of college to get a job to support their child, thus discarding a bright and educated future.
    4. Wind up the delorean and... ah who am i kidding, that wont work.
And the most people who get abortions are teenagers, unable to provide for their child as they are still in education (and if the dropped out, well... they will end up working at Walmart for $5 an hour.)
Someone who wants to see a child born, but not a child fed, raised and taken care of is not pro-life, they are just pro-birth.
A child whose parents cannot take care of them because they are too young will just end up under the care of the state, sharing the same fate as thousands of others causing both the child and the budget much grief.
