    That did not deter him.

    Credit where due:
    He delivered the hoopla he promised, reading his teleprompter without once relapsing into his pathetic whining about "Crooked Hillary!", "George Conway!" , or "Witch Hunts!"

    He captured history as only Mr Peabody could have done.

    Seizing the airports in 1776 was a particularly prescient move by Washington and the lads,

    amidst all those duct-taped women and prayer rugs everywhere!

    Nevertheless, Trump lovers swooned in ecstatic rapture, and he couldn't have expected more than that.

    You have noting to base that claim on other than the dubious pronouncements of American right wing media, which is not know for its accuracy.

    Of course, this was the Fox Trumpsters line a year ago when Kim signed an agreement to do away with his nuclear weapons.

    He didn’t. And he is continuing to enrich uranium.

    Get back to us next year and let us know how well Trump’s photo op diplomacy.

    Or maybe, we’ll just quote your post back to you in a year.

    It is my understanding that this event cost several million dollars--exactly how many million is unclear--but as of 2018, welfare spending in the US was actually 1.1 trillion dollars: https://www.heritage.org/welfare/re...-11-trillion-welfare-system-and-how-reform-it

    So even if we were to say that the actual cost of the Fourth of July extravaganza were some 10 million dollars--and again, the exact cost is uncertain--that would come to just 0.0000009 percent of America's total welfare spending in 2018.

    Viewed in that way, it really does not seem like an unreasonable expenditure.

    World’s tallest tower in Dubai glows red, white and blue while U.S. media snubs ‘Salute to America’

    Independence Day in America was celebrated as far away as Dubai, which shows the impact the United States has had over the years for people around the world.

    The United Arab Emirates lit up the tallest skyscraper in the world, the Burj Khalifa, with a star spangled banner in tribute to the 4th of July holiday.

    UAE leaders offered their congratulations to President Donald Trump in honor of the occasion, The National reported.

    The Middle East-based news source noted that UAE President Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, sent messages of support to the United States.

    Meanwhile, here at home, the toxic resistance to all things Trump hung over the day like a dark cloud.

    With President Trump delivering an inspirational speech on unity and freedom from the step of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., major networks refused to air the event.

    The “Salute to America” celebration marked Independence Day and honored the U.S. military, and despite all the media nay-sayers, Trump did not politicize his remarks or make it about himself.

    wow, just watch some of the tivo'd events from fox last night, they were all out in the Trump support and attack dems didn't they - wow, just wow

    I like how Hannity said no dem will beat this Trump crowd... give me a break... this was not a Trump crowd, this was a 4th of July celebration

    Everybody is rightfully making fun of airports and Fort McHenry, but WTF does "rammed the ramparts" mean??

    Did somebody watch 'Braveheart' before walking on stage??

    I'm glad my son had no interest is watching that 'Salute to Idiocy', or it might have set his education back 6 full months..
