    While a 10% flat tax would be great it is not feasible. For the US to implement a flat tax and continue with life as we know it, it would take at least twice that. And I would good with an honest 20 or 25% flat tax.

    The effective tax rate for most people that pays tax now is about 12 percent. If you open it up to everyone it would be about 10 percent but people who now dont pay any tax like yourself would have to pay it

    What is the question? Forbes many years ago suggested 17%. I just figured with all the government programs instituted since he said that.....

    Absolutely. I would be paying my fair share. I would no longer be able to budget my life to fly under the radar. See how that works I would have to pay for services like roads, fire protection, schools. Fair for all.

    Which party was in control of writing and passing a budget during Regan's presidency? To blame this budget crisis on any one party is plan policy party blindness. Both are guilty and both are not looking out for the best interests of the country. In the end I feel it is all about power and money for the people who claim to have the country's interest as their main concern.

    Down in Kentucky they finally succeeded in "drowning government in the bathtub" and achieving full libertarian freedom. You'd think folks would be celebrating.
    Instead they blame liberals when a liberal hasn't been in charge in Kentucky EVER...not EVER.
