So is economic output. Our state — not just last year, during the pandemic, but over the last five years — is the fastest-growing economy of all Western democracies. With respect. But no, the other side’s not interested in evidence.

[Editor’s note: According to a fact check by the Sacramento Bee, California is not dominating “every [economic] category” compared with Florida, as Newsom has claimed.]

I appreciate our approach to entrepreneurialism, capitalism, inclusion, and social, racial and economic justice.”

In any case, facts and evidence never weigh to heavily on the mind of a Democrat. So, Newsom continued his anti-DeSantis rant, saying:

“I do not look for inspiration to that particular governor … to not only the pandemic, but to other policy, including the absurdity that was his ‘woke’ initiative and the laughability around stopping something that doesn’t exist, around critical race theory — just playing in and placating the right-wing punditry. It’s the CPAC primary. It’s rather absurd. And that’s why I respectfully submit that so much of this is pure performance. ”

Another attempt to slander DeSantis and make him appear the fool, another backfiring, massive failure.

For example, take the claim that CRT doesn’t exist: that’s an obvious, blatant lie. Though the names of some topics and courses are changed to make it appear that CRT isn’t being taught, as Governor Youngkin pointed out recently, the actual topics are frequently taught by leftists. In other words, CRT is as real as the gallon of grease that holds Newsom’s hair in place.

Newsom is lying about his state; compared to Florida, it’s literally California. If that doesn’t send shivers down your spine, what will?

    Governor
Newsom is a complete and total idiot. His lies about Florida and Governor De Santis are laughable and a deliberate distortion of reality. Florida is doing much better as are all the red states relative to blue states.

if you think doing nothing, and mandating that local authoritues must do nothing is a good policy then desantis is your guy.

    many people disagree.

California is a crap hole under Newsom. There is a reason people are leaving CA for TX and FL.

That is factually incorrect, so its no surprise you provided nothing to back it up. California recovery score is in fact better than Florida

    Categories:

    - Covid health score

Most red States are in the bottom of the barrel, including Texas

    Florida total score: 49.94
    Texas : 43.13
    California: 51.88

Newsom Tries to Say He’s Done a Better Job than DeSantis,

Why is this a problem? Every govenor promotes his own state. Every politician promotes his/her own accomplishments. I would think that if he had praised Florida it would be more unusual.

Ignoring most of the details and talking points, what sticks out in my mind is that Californians are fleeing California like the whole state is a wildfire while Florida has increasing moves in. That all by itself shows that California on the whole is going downhill while Florida seems to be a big go to state.

Florida rate of population increase is #8 in the nation, but the rate is not accelerating, - it has been steady as aging folks from the North retire in warm Florida. Younger people are not so interested because there are no jobs here, except in service industry. As a result Florida has more deaths than births (natural increase is -45K). We are also #1 in the nation as far as immigrant destination (retirees + people from south America). Its also the favorite destination for Puerto Ricans.

May all be true but figures also show that the state turns redder by the year.

Well Florida is if not the fastest growing state in the nation in terms of new arrivals it's the second at the very least.

Now as a native Floridian and someone who has lived here my entire life I'd rather not hear that.

However it appears a whole bunch of people disagree with you

I read in the paper the other day it was either first or second in the nation for new arrivals.

Believe me I wish that was not true where do you get this notion that the death rate exceeds the birth rate it seems to me Florida's growing all the time.

Again I wish you were correct but I don't think that is

Its #8 in rate of increase (1.0%). Idaho is #1 with 2.7%. Of course the current population size will affect the %, because FL population is already 3rd largest in the nation. As total number of people moving in, it is #1. Northern retirees, Puerto Ricans, Latino immigrants love Florida. I don't blame them. Look at the weather up North, and compare it to here. Todays is a 'cold day' and its 65F outside.

I know I've got a long sleeve shirt on. Sitting on my porch out of the wind with the sun shining feels pretty good though.

You always hear people talk crap about Florida but they sure do love to move here

On poverty, you forgot to factor in the cost of living. Common mistake:

Exactly, or moving to a part of California where the Governor is regularly ignored.

You are correct in as far as you go, but you are looking at the highest possible income tax rate. If you look at the lowest they are 1%.
I looked at all taxes income, sales tax, etc. I also included fees such as car or boat registration.
I got the cost of living from a chart.
If one should consider cost of living shouldn't one also consider average income.

If we include sales tax. 2 gas taxes, taxes disguised as registration fees, and property taxes, CA is number one or at least close. (Like the Tampax slogan" We may not be number one, but we're up there!"

When considering the cost of living, the average is extremely misleading considering the gap between the rich and poor in CA.

Newsom is the perfect example of fouling up the works then making it worse by implementing ideas/programs that cost the people money and their freedoms while giving the politicians more power. When is the last time a politician has admitted their idea/program failed? This country has a big problem electing incompetent people to office and another problem of the MSM propping the incompetent politicians up.
