First off adhd is a neurological disorder and it can most certainly be attributed to irregular activity in the growth and structure of the frontal lobe.

Next psychiatry screens out through its DSV Diagnostic manual and other analysis it uses so called subjective interpretations particularly those caused by phenomena called transference and counter transference.

Next your generalization that psychiatry does not analyze physical or what you bases for psychiatric disorders is false. More to the point psychiatric disorders not attached to a physical illness (which is rare) most certainly can cause physical illnesses.

Furthermore the slightest compromise to the brain by injury, exposure to a bacteria, fungus, radiation, microwaves, electricity, a lesion or deformity or lack of or overgrowth of certain brain cells, not to mention excess fluid, tumors, can all cause psychiatric and neurological illnesses.

Your comment there is no test for adhd that you can scan is false. MRI's can most certainly scan the frontal lobe and pick up irregular brain stimulation. The fact is there is no one test, there are multiple tests, and the key to them is in screening out other possible illnesses.

Patients do not stop complaining and bam are called adhd. In fact when I was young I was called anything but adhd. We were called mentally retarded, schizophrenic, psychotic, angry, sociopathic anything but adhd.

Adhd is now known to originate from frontal lobe anomalies. As a result some medications help ease its many symptoms but it is different with each person and the benefits of any one drug depend on the individual's unique characteristics of it.

We also know for a fact now, adhd usually comes with some sort of anxiety feature and depression feature and in most cases specific types of learning disabilities and it can lead to higher rates of specific physical illnesses that come from exposure to stress such as heart disease.

In fact today all kinds of professionals see the early warning signs from dentists noticing certain chewing of the inside mouth wall and chipped death from grinding or lesions on the tongue, to pediatricians, family doctors, teachers, nurses.

No I did not complain about adhd. I never knew I had it or depression or anxiety or learning disabilities and issues mixing up left from right. In fact I blamed myself and turned inwards and engaged in self harm and blamed myself and felt like I was a moron.

Anyone with adhd will tell you similar stories. We blamed and still like to blame ourselves.
