But of course he never did that.

    And I agree.

A hundred years from now people will look back at the bigotry that keeps an unconstutional law intended for- and used against homosexuals- on the books in Louisiana in the same way they will look at the laws that allowed slavery, and bans on mixed race marriages, and bans on Chinese from becoming citizens.

And if that makes you feel insulted, well I can live with that.

I think not! History will not be kind to those who oppress the views of the many for the miniscule few, especially when they are identified by their behavior, not inborn traits.

Or at least the ones who haven't died from them.

The views of the many are now in favor of equality for same sex couples. And still rising rapidly. In a century, those opposed to it will be so rare you won't even know they exist.

Equality? They have always had equality. They couldn't get married because a marriage is a union between one man and one woman. If they wanted to enter into such a union, they have never been precluded from doing so.

Marriage is whatever we say it is. As it's a man-made concept, we can change the "definition" whenever we want.

Getting blowjobs has always been illegal in Louisiana???

Yet another state in which I have repeatedly and unwittingly broken the law.

Following your argument, when everyone could marry within their same race we should have kept it that way? Just because there is a law doesn't make it correct. Do yall get tired of using the same refuted arguments over and over again? The exact same arguments have all been used in the past.

In the end - you lost.... many many times.

Incorrect. Someone call call the sky tree bark if they want, doesn't means everyone else has to accept that it is now tree bark.

Everyone cannot marry within their own race now? When did that happen? My arguments have not yet been refuted logically.

The sky is the sky regardless of what we call it. We can't change it by calling it something else. That is not true of marriage. For some strange reason you think it exists outside of our definition of it. It does not.

Actually that is true of marriage as well. Marriage is what it has been for centuries, just like the word sky. "sky" is just a name we gave something, according to you it can change at any time, only suddenly you say it can't.

"Marriage", outside of what we humans define it as, does not exist. The sky does. We define marriage. The sky is what it is.

"Sky" outside of our language doesn't exist. BTW, it is only your opinion that marriage does not exist outside of what humans define it as.

That's insane. Sky exists in China, Japan, and lots of other places where they don't use our language. It also exists over the middle of the pacific, where there is no human at all. Marriage, outside of how it's defined in our laws, doesn't. That's not opinion, it's fact.

You are wrong, as I have successfully pointed out already. "Sky" is merely a word. According to you it could change to peanut tomorrow if some small group decided that is what it should be called.

Yes, we could change the word to peanut. Or grape, walrus, shreck, or cow. It doesn't matter what we call it, it is still a layer of nitrogen and oxygen that disperses blue light (during the day), and gets thinner and colder when you increase your altitude. We do not define "sky", we can only observe, measure, and use it.

On the other hand, "marriage", outside of our laws relating to it, does not exist. There is no marriage on Mars. I don't even know that every human society has it. But those that do define it via laws enacted by legislators. Change the law, change the nature of marriage. It does not have a fixed definition. Never has.

Right, just as a union between one man and one woman is a marriage. You can call it something else if you want, but that is what it is. You seem VERY confused, marriage has definitely had a fixed meaning for centuries.. There was even a law recognizing this Bill Clinton signed into law .

That's changing. Deal with it. I predict same sex marriage will be the law in all 50 states in 24 months. Don't like it? Too bad, so sad.
