Yes, I live in a country that is a Social Democracy (France) and, given the higher taxation, it provides services that I find absolutely indispensable of any viable economy. Namely, National Healthcare (entirely including Dental) and National Post-secondary Education (almost free). You-plural have no such healthcare-system, so you are paying through the nose for your health-care - that is, the little you get. (Without "ERs".) And why? Because, my life-span here in Europe is 82.7 and yours stateside has just gone down one year to 78.9 due to the recent pill-popping opioid epidemic in the US. (Opioids are allowed in Europe only under medical care and supervision by a practising physician.) Doom the bug, will ya ... ?
Don't know where you get that thought from. I suspect personally that it is a combination of traits that allows them to be better managers. Rather than the "do something!" military execution, they tend to think through to a solution given multiple conditions. (At least I would hope so.) Regardless, they are far less emotional about leading (that is, making important decisions that they expect to be executed). Yes, shout at a woman and she will flinch. But argue with a woman conditionally and most will argue back without flinching. And, the smarter ones - if they think you are right - will accept your argument, alter their decisions accordingly - and perhaps even thank you. Men are different. They are "hunters", whilst women are "gatherers". Both traits were once fundamentally necessary to survive as humans. But, they have become lately very different in character in either sex. Men hunt good jobs. Women do the same nowadays, and jobs in this newly arrived Information Age of ours are no longer based upon physical strength but more so on mental ability. (Wakey! Wakey!) Times have changed fundamentally. Women are following the same careers as men, often sacrificing family-life to do so and often enough trying hard to combine both. They merit an equal chance for assuming such a very large personal burden ...
And who asked Uncle Sam to police the world? (Which has already cost us thousands of lives, and for what return?) So far, it's been one helluva cost in lives and a waste of the DoD-budget that consumes more than half the nation's Discretionary Budget. When practically nada goes to either National Healthcare or Post-secondary Scholarship. Uncle Sam has got his priorities all-wrong, all-wrong, all-wrong ...
For your edification, from Bloomberg here: The full report above makes for good reading. Let's not be factually naive, shall we ... ?
My prize to you for utterly devoid one-liner rebuttals - This is a DEBATE Forum, not a Message Board ...
Definitely, USA has extremely harsh Penal System. USA has very poor Welfare System. People in need of help get prison.
A WEAKLING VOTER-DEMOCRACY Yes, and why? Some salient reasons: *Since 1812 (and the 12th Amendment) our forbears planted the rules for political manipulation of voting outcomes. Whyzzat? Because they were all intelligent men, but the US was "enjoying" a very large influx of not-so-intelligent workers. Perhaps they figured that if someone must "control" them, it would be best that it be "intelligent people" - and thus the reason why voting was sufficiently manipulated to assure outcomes. *The south was deeply dependent upon slave-labor for its cotton-based economy. The politicos were afraid that the menace from northern states to "free the slaves" would come true and destroy their privileges as "estate farmers". *At the time there was nowhere a debate about "socialism" what it meant or did not mean. That did not come about until the latter part of the 19th century, and by then Agricultural Age was giving way to the Industrial Age. Which would become the new "millionaire playground" for rich families. *The US remained totally immune to what was happening in Europe. Socialism got off to a wrong-start in Russia, which gave Rightists in the US the upper-hand against the supposedly "Loony-Left". *To this day, Americans have an "uptight dread" of anything different from a "church social". Communism is dead, but that's not nearly enough. So, to sweeten the supposedly bitter-pill the Left started employing the word "progressive". Yes, today we have two sides of the same coin - "progressives" and "regressives". And in the middle, most people flip either way - depending upon TV-messaging that grooms candidates and "sells them like packaged Dollmaker". *Worse yet is America's penchant for voting - one of the weakest of any democracy. See that fact displayed here by research of country elections in terms of Voter Turnout (percent of "voting age population" and "voter turnout"). Aint nuthin to be proud about for Uncle Sam ...
