Right now Nelson Mandela of South Africa is in his final days of his life. Under his leadership "affirmative action" as they say in the states has taken place to a great extent. Although arguably not quite as bad as Zimbabwe. He was also violent in the ANC struggle to end apartheid. More specifically in his leadership of the Umkhonto We Sizewe arm of the ANC which made bombs to target government officials. Under his presidency and subsequent post-Apartheid rule the murder rate has exploded. Personally I've not met a single S.African who hasn't been robbed or coerced and plenty of them have known people who were shot. So as Madiba passes away. The one question I ask if any is to be asked at all is whether Apartheid was good for South Africa? I should point out I have no racist tendencies towards people of a different colour. And that this should not be a an issue about race but the nature of the ANC and Mandela as well the recent history of S.Africa and it's future.
Blowing up unarmed government employees is not the most ethical thing. And there are other forms of resistance which don't use violence. I mean it worked for Gandhi. Nearly.
Big deal. He's just another socialist figurehead who got lionized due to relentless leftist propaganda. He's no hero, anymore than Rosa Parks was. They were both manufactured to fit the mold of an agenda.
they over look him trying to over throw a legit south africa government at the time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelson_Mandela http://law2.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/mandela/mandelaaccount.html
This shouldn't be about race. I'm trying to ascertain whether Mandela deserves to be revered as he does now. I'm also trying to ask whether the end of Apartheid was good for South Africa. Does it matter whether someone is black or white? They could be Martians and Frog monsters from Xanthar 7 for all that it matters to this topic. For the love of god don't misinterpret what I've tried to establish.
he would beg to anyone that help his cause even Moammar Gadhafi http://www2.fiu.edu/~fcf/mandelagaddafidel.html
Excellent reason to not donate... because they allow subversive speech on a political board. :: I think Mother Theresa was sick in the (*)(*)(*)(*)ing head, obsessed with suffering. I am pretty sure that offends catholics. Should it be banned? Mandela changed the world, and is beloved by billions of people. What I find in even poorer taste is the political whores parading in and out and propping him up like Weekend at Bernies to take photo ops before he kicks.
Mandela's legacy is a hopelessly corrupt and violent society. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_South_Africa His own ex wife advocated a form of summary execution so disgusting and barbaric it's scarcely believable http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necklacing When Mandela dies we will just have to endure countless hours of televised tributes and typical butt smooching from the media. But the people of South Africa will still have to endure living in one of the most dysfunctional nations in the world. Mandela merely substituted the cruelties of apartheid with the even greater random violence and cruelty of the mob. That's some legacy.
He was nothing more than a communist terrorist......loved by "progressives" in the West in order to bring down another functioning White run country. To view the ultimate results just look a little North to Rhodesia/Zimbabwe which under White rule was the bread-basket of sub-Saharan Africa.....now, under black rule, it's a hell-hole that can't feed itself. There is no future for Whites in SA, so they are all leaving......SA will look like Zimbabwe in a few years
because he was a closet dictator, and wished to be like Gadhafi and castro hitler deep down. did i pass the test?
When dealing with the sort of government that existed prior to the end of apartheid violence was definitely an option. The moral side of it was effective, making the then South Africa an international pariah. But a brutal regime has to be fought on its own terms and violence to achieve freedom was moral in South Africa.
I think the end of apartheid was good for South Africa. Now we need to separate that from judgement of the government of South Africa post-apartheid. Under Mandela it seemed to be okay, it hit the skids when Mbeki got the big job and it has really gone down the toilet with Zuma. They need another revolution, this time to sort out the current ANC mess.
I wonder why people consider a man who admitted plotting sabotage for emancipation purposes and was duly imprisoned for it as a hero when there are other people who did the same thing, now reside (for want of a better word) in GITMO and are despised for their own attempt of emancipation from US and allies influences.
To answer your question, or at least give you my opinion, I would say that the best thing of all would have been for Europeans to have never went into Africa in the first place.
Mandela was a freedom figther, hero to his people. His legacy will stand the test of time. Freedom comes with a price, if blood was spilt so be it. Its doesn't matter if some on this board hate him he will go down in history as a hero to the people.
..weekend at bernies... too much.. Perhaps Obama is campaigning to be king of africa once his stint as us prez is over? He can unify the continent, bring in a new era of peace & prosperity, & then conquer the world.. you know, the things he couldn't do as us prez.. - - - Updated - - - One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist.. It depends on who wins. They get to write the history.
Europeans were the best thing that ever happened to Africans.........without Europeans, Africans would all still be living in mud huts.......and certainly wouldn't know what a television is...
Does the racist, anti black nonsense ever end? Weill there be a day when there is a thread on the forum where someone does not post some nonsense racist statement? Seriously folks, it is (*)(*)(*)(*)ing ridiculous that the racist garbage has crowded out all political discussion and instead what you have left is what I quoted, jut bigoted wank fodder.
Mandela is not someone who should be celebrated - he was a communist and terrorist who belonged in prison, or better yet, should have been executed. SA is in rapid decline. It is only a matter of time before the parasites pick the bones of the previous culture clean, and the country descends into chaos and abject want. It is always the legacy of communism... poverty, want, suffering, democide - for the masses; and, power, wealth, and leisure for the oligarchy.
Do you seriously believe that sub-Saharan Africans, with an IQ hovering around room temperature, would have invented a television, a cell phone, or even the wheel........dude, its not racism......its reality.....you just want to avoid it. Rhodesia has gone to hell since the Whites were driven from power....can't even feed themselves......South Africa will take a similar track......sit back and watch. Please tell me what country, where blacks are in power, where there is prosperity and innovation.......Haiti?
You're a genius because without Africans there would be no Homo Sapiens. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!!!
