    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ma...ven-as-new-mayor-vows-to-combat-growing-crime

“Manhattan’s newly sworn-in district attorney reportedly told his staff he does not intend to prosecute several crimes, including resisting arrest. At the same time New York City’s newly sworn-in mayor is pledging to crack down on surging crime.

Alvin Bragg, a former federal prosecutor sworn in as Manhattan District Attorney on Jan. 1, sent guidance to his office calling for the "decriminalization/non prosecution" for crimes including marijuana possession, turnstile jumping, trespassing, resisting arrest, interfering with an arrest and prostitution.

Additionally, the guidance says the DA’s office will "not seek carceral sentence other than for homicide" or "class B violent felony in which a deadly weapon causes serious injury, domestic violence felonies" with some exceptions in "extraordinary circumstances."“

Damn ladies... you better hope you don’t get raped in Manhattan. If he didn’t use a weapon, your attacker won’t even be incarcerated.

    Liberal utopia.

But don’t worry. According to this moron of a DA, it’ll make you safer.

“The memo argues that "reserving incarceration for matters involving significant harm will make us safer."

Bragg’s office also says it will request a maximum of 20 years in prison for all crimes that don’t have a life-in-prison option and will never seek life without parole in any case regardless of how heinous.

Pretrial detention, according to Bragg's office, will only be recommended in "very serious cases.

That loud noise you heard was every criminal in NYC cheering. Remember, the people who voted for prosecutors like this are the same people who were giddy at the thought of Stone, Manafort, global warming deniers and even Trump going to prison.

Right now, today, if I had a criminal mind I’d move to NYC. Serious.

It looks like the left loves to see women in peril
They can’t even play sports anymore without getting pummeled by a she-he and now they are even less safe in NYC
Since we have unlimited illegal immigration we should swap out our liberals for Mexicans

It looks like it only took a few days for buyer’s remorse to set in.

Manhattan shopkeepers fear DA Alvin Bragg’s new policies will increase crime
Manhattan shopkeepers expressed fear and anger on Wednesday that the new district attorney’s progressive policies will only serve to embolden small-time crooks and put them in harm’s way.

District Attorney Alvin Bragg, in a memo issued Monday, instructed his staff to stop prosecuting many low-level offenses, to seek reduced charges for certain crimes and not to ask for bail except in the most serious cases.

“This is very bad for this neighborhood,” said Modou Wade, owner of Bakh Yaye, a clothing and food store in Harlem, the area where Bragg grew up in the 1980s.

It's okay, they can just complain about "toxic masculinity", and it gives feminists more fodder for railing against "male violence on women".

Seriously, that's how these people are likely to see things.

Maybe a few Asian women will get attacked too, and the media can make a big hullabaloo about "hate crimes against Asians".

Who cares? This is New York. They can sleep in the bed they've made.

Hopefully law abiding citizens will continue to move to states that aren't hives of scum and villainy.

Manhattan DA gives many misdemeanors a pass

Slapping random people in dey heads, jumping subway turnstiles, and stealing old women's pocketbooks on the street are now considered okay. Just try not draw too much attention or it may be reported in the media. We don't wants that now do we?

Really? From liberals? I can believe it. In fact I’m surprised he said he would incarcerate violent criminals. I’m sure that’s next on the waiver list. Well I’m sure he’d still jail you if you were white but I’m willing to bet the amount of black people who get charged with anything serious will drop dramatically

Didn't cite CNN. Don't use them. I prefer NYT, Washington Post and NPR.

It is NYC, but i have family living half a mile from the GW bridge on the Jersey side and they’re always concerned about NY ghetto scum creeping over to their side because it happens all too often. then again, if NYC goes easier on criminals than Jersey, then maybe the ghetto scum will stay in NYC where there’s likely no punishment for their crimes.

Then, get the facts from the horses mouth! He actually said he wants to reduce armed robbery from a 20 year max sentence to a midsimeaner punishable to a max 365 day sentence. So, if you don't mind people robbing with guns being back on the streets in less than a year, that is all on you to believe it or not until it actually happens. Lets see how this plays out with the crimes committed skyrocketing then get back with me.

Can you explain how someone who robs with a gun and gets out in less than a year in jail will reduce crime in your city?

Every day one of these thugs sits in a jail is a day they're not out breeding future Democrat voters.

Sorry I’m on my phone right now but daily mail is also a really bad source. Very right wing and known for poor fact checking. If you need the citation let me know and I’ll get it once I’m back on my computer.

So once again, get a better source.

I have no issue with not prosecuting marijuana possession or prostitution

to me those are not really crimes if the person chooses to do them of their own free will

my guess is the rest of this is fake news, if it's not, crime will rise in new york

A search engine search on the term "face slashing" illustrates the reality of NYC.
