Unless I am mistaken, this is NOT the first debate but something new.

 

I'll never understand why Republicans continue to accept far left moderators for debates. I thought Trump might be different but apparently not.

Relax, it is NOT a debate and they will NOT be on stage together. It's a town hall like atmosphere with both having 30 minutes, one after the other. NBC is televising it so I would expect them to provide the media folks.

 

Trump can't handle one-on-one against Hillary.

 

Mark Levin would do nicely but Hillary wouldn't sit for it. She has the soul of a politician which means no give all take.

Actually, this format is BS. The candidates won't even be on the stage together, so calling it debate in nonsense. We deserve better than this. It's pathetic.

At the very end...it was still him, Cruz, and Kasich...and Ted and John were fighting each other as much as Trump.

Through MOST of the GOP Primaries....there were 7-10-15 guys on stage...and Trump didn't pop his head out of the gopher-hole except to fling a personal insult...or to claim "I'll make it rain gumdrops...believe me!"

Hillary went ONE-ON-ONE against Sanders almost every debate. And Sanders was no idiot...unlike....

That'd be fine. But Trumpsters would attack Levin as a "RINO" if he asked Trump what day it was.

 

This is good news for Trump supporters. As it is the first instance of Trump and Hillary on stage together, it will receive broad attention. Any material moderator bias on this will go in Trump's favor and further boost his narrative of a corrupt media. Frankly, I don't see Lauer really having much to say in this format, so any interjections he makes that could be remotely considered partisan will likely be judged very harshly by viewers in the center.

Same for the debates. Moderators with partisan axes should be very careful or their efforts to boost Clinton will end up counterproductive. If there is -any- single narrative that the US voter is most aware of in this election it's that the media carries water for Democrats, and that the DNC cheats for its chosen candidate over all others like they cheated Sanders. Viewers will be, for what may be the first time in US politics, watching media conduct during the debates with as much of a jaundiced eye that they evaluate candidates' statements to form an opinion on whether the "biased media" narrative is true or not. For many of these voters, the debates will be the first and only real involvement they have with the POTUS campaign. Should be interesting in any event.

 

He doesn't need to know what day it is, he has staff for that.
