CNN has an interview of John McCain by David Axelrod. I am enjoying it. Both men are decent and discuss things honestly. I was seriously considering John McCain in 2000, but Rove killed his chances and Bimbo Bush got the nomination. When McCain came back in 2008, I researched him better, and found he was 5th from the bottom at Annapolis - we deserve the best for president, not "squeakers". He fell in my esteem more when he selected the profoundly stupid Alaskan Twit as running mate. The final straw was when he said "We could've won in Vietnam, but we gave up too soon". Having said that, I still respect the man. That used to be the norm in politics - we could disagree, but not hate. He has great integrity. I often do not agree with him, but I would defend his right to voice his opinions. Sad that some GOP hacks attack him - call him a RINO - because he isn't fascist and hateful and extreme enough, and doesn't always toe the "party line". It is clear HE puts country before party. If there could be more D and R exchanges like this, our country would be better off. McCain said he has never seen the country so divided, and I agree with him. I salute you, John McCain.
Liberal interpretation of politics - "because he isn't fascist and hateful and extreme enough." It's almost a hilarious statement, if it weren't so damn stupid.
