...So, congress needs more than 7 days for stated consequences to penetrate their minds for consideration, but the president made his position clear 5 months ago. Essentially, a case of incompetent lawmakers from both sides failing to adequately examine criteria while assessing counterpoints. Here's my favorite take from John Cornyn: Yet, this is the same individual in April on the Senate floor: Way to earn that 13% approval rating while trying to appear patriotic during an election season.
I find it absolutely amazing that members of congress have no conception of what sovereign immunity actually means. so naturally when it comes out that tit for tat ain't a good thing for america, the republicans have to blame obama for their own ignorance and lack of forethought.
What I find incredibly sad is that the Senate Democrats are agreeing to block this veto. They are letting emotions get the better of them. This is probably one of the smarter moves I've seen Obama make. I fully support the veto and would hope my Congress would too. However, this is obviously not the case.
No one wants to vote against something for 9/11 victims during an election season. Idiots would rather cave to public emotion than do the required work of explaining consequence to a potentially pissed constituency.
Exactly. It's how McCain garnished support he probably never would have gotten in 2007. He played the 9/11 emotions. I even fell for it.
