'It seems that teenagers in Stockton, CA are getting their hands on firearms, and now the media is all concerned. To be fair, armed teens running around–something that is illegal–is grounds for people to be concerned. After all, if they’re already breaking one law, how many more are they breaking…and these teens are breaking the law. Right now, it seems the media is worried about where they’re getting the guns.' '....the primary way these kids are getting guns is via the black market, and I think we all know that. Black market dealers don’t check ID, don’t run background checks, and don’t care about gun laws. Either way, this is a reminder that if children can get their hands on guns like this, how are we going to disarm anyone?' Exactly...you can quote rhetoric and advocate the latest magic law du jour...but you aren't accomplishing anything. This is a glaring lesson of how gun control laws control only the law abiding.Criminals by definition..are out of control. If even minors can acquire firearms in the state of California, with no difficulty whatsoever posed by the various firearm-related restrictions currently in place, then said restrictions are not working, and have no justification for even existing. If they are no better than currently existing federal laws, they have no legitimate reason for being in place to begin with.
not honest ones. nor do law abiding adults. which of course is the main purpose of gun control-to harass and impede good citizens being able to own firearms
This is not a new problem, When I was undercover, The same adults that traffic illegal drugs were also Arming teens, it is a trickle down effect, it was common to find Teens often Armed while conducting business, it still works that way, just that now the media takes note of it..... It is all part of the illegal drug trade. Gangs and Gang related Crime, exploiting young people for legal reasons while they are still underage. Yeah, Gun Control works......... It works !!! It works !!! It is Science !!!!
Thanks to the lax gun laws supported by gun apologists children can easily obtain guns. It's a different story in Australia.
You are stuck to prove there are any Laxative gun laws in the U.S. because there aren't any, every State has the same basic requirements.
yet we have very strict laws against cocaine and heroin and those two things are easy for children to get as well.
Wow !!! You really believe that ? Could anyone really be so fooled ? Drug dealers Arm those teens ! Gangs, drugs and guns are part of Gang life, don't you know that ? Why do you try to blame law abiding people ? Gun laws have nothing to do with how those teens get guns.
Well yes, and those so called kids are selling drugs for a Fagin, as in the story about Oliver Twist, remember there are entire Gangs composed of younger offenders as the dynamic of prosecution differs, hence why many teens are often tried as adults, depending on charges.... I I used to caution other Officers not to be fooled by age, we used to see kids as young as 10 years old carrying guns and not afraid to use them against Police Officers.
Not true. We made zip guns (learned from older kids) before I acquired my first factory made handgun, a WWII German PPK, between 8 and 9 while living in the UK. Went through several before leaving at 17, including building a full auto Sten in my Da’s and uncles’s machine shop at 14. There were often guns among the street groups, along with an assortment of other weapons. At that time, they were easier to acquire than drugs.
Its a very different story everywhere else actually and the sad truth is many Americans couldnt care less as long as their sacred guns are safe . As a consequence children are some 65 times more likely to be shot dead in the US than in the UK
real gun control? you mean its not JUST A FORM as you have been squawking for at a rate of 100 posts a day
First and foremost, the state of California being discussed, meaning the firearm-related restrictions in place in the state of California are being discussed. Is it being claimed by yourself that the firearm-related restrictions of the state of California are considered "lax" in this regard? Second, the acquisition of firearms is regulated on the basis of age by federal law. Even if no states possessed their own individual restrictions, federal law would still dictate that no individual under the age of eighteen can legally purchase a rifle or shotgun, and that no individual under the age of twenty one can legally purchase a handgun. So pray tell, exactly what so-called "lax" firearm-related restrictions are making it possible for minors to acquire firearms, when absolutely every single aspect relating to their acquisition is already regulated?
A form, and more than one trillion dollars in additional funding to the ATF per year, just to try and ensure that paperwork requirements are actually being complied with.
The gun is a sacred artifact of American 'culture' how dare you question that ..... however many lives it costs you
Any one of these kids can buy guns in a private sale with no checks of any kind. A ten year old could do it. And that is the problem
