Again and again I see that many debaters in the issue of abortion oversimplify the medical impact that pregnancy can have on some women

The central questions surrounding allowing abortion for medical reasons are:-

Assuming that the legislation in the US is changed and abortion is either outlawed or severely restricted

    1) How sick/threatened must a woman be before she should be allowed to have an abortion?

No threat......Some concern............Identified threat to health...........Possible permanent harm......Serious permanent disability.....Immanent and probable death.....not under any circumstances

Who should make the decision to terminate the pregnancy?

Woman alone........Woman but partner has right of veto.........woman but a medical officer must confirm illness/threat........Only if 2 independent medical officers.....Panel of medical experts........not under any circumstances
