    I was reading a very interesting thread about the possible appeal of the ACA in the US. I haven't commented (yet) because I'm still thinking through a few issues and anyway I'm wondering if :deadhorse: - and I also wonder if it's any of my business.

    But here in our little ANZP corner I think it's appropriate to signal what might be happening to us.

    Just one more reason to boot the coalition next election. As Americans are starting to wake up to the fact that the way they manage health services is positively mediaeval we are going their way in a hurry. For the life of me I can't understand these morons in the coalition, I really can't.

    Never we had one like him, slowly suffocating us in order to become the most southern state of the US.

    Its not just our health care, but our education system too. When every country in Europe is looking to a progressive future, and views its people as worthy to having a free education, these idiot dumbarse politicians in Australia seem to be turning back the hands of time and following the USA back into the dark ages.

    Yes, for some reason conservatives don't like people to be able to critically think. It seems the first thing they do in any country today that they're elected in is to dismantle education.

    Okay I'm just meandering here, but anyway - the Tories don't think education beyond preparation for unemployment, sorry, I mean, employment, is for those who can't afford it. If you're not well off you're obviously not in need of higher education. Those who can afford to pay for it deserve it and will do well out of it. See how it works? It maintains the class system, who needs that stupidity about social mobility anyway?

    Same for health care. If you can afford it then good for you. If you can't then bad luck sunshine, better luck in your next incarnation and you should hope you come back as a member of the lucky sperm club.

    as you appear to be a white Australian (so my estimate) you are 99% European, I think that is something most Aussies forget about.
    I am proud of this fact, especially after some time over there and realizing the broad and vast history, incl. especially the arts and culture.....
