I explained the reason behind the political expediency as the need to avoid testifying under oath. Since he had already been entrapped once by Starr there was no point at all in giving the GOP a second opportunity. Had that not been the context of the PJ case it would never have been settled for that amount IMO. It was an utterly bogus case without merit but because of the timing and the situation it was the only reasonable alternative in the circumstances.

FTR Trump has done exactly the same thing with his scam university lawsuit but I believe that he paid out $25 million instead It was politically expedient for him to NOT have that lawsuit sucking up the media cycles at the beginning of his administration. In hindsight it probably would have gotten lost in all of his other scandals but no one could have known that at the time.

So... all this goes on all the time. It's amusing. Take it with a smile and an eye-roll. To be fair, some men don't do well with hand holding. That may be reading too much into it. I have been around very high-powered men who have a one-track mind for business. They tend to be unaware of others in a room and only focus on the task at hand. Can you imagine sitting in a jet and being ignored by your husband, only for him to grab at you once out of the plane? She probably doesn't like phoniness, or she may wish to be her own person and stand shoulder to shoulder with him rather than be paraded. Men do parade around their beautiful women. It's tiring.

What is happening is a lot of people are giving her more than they gave Michelle Obama. I still shudder remembering some of the nastiness posted about her
