Men are taught as little boys that they have to turn off their emotions at times. Some of the places we go and fight War they are shooting at drugged six year olds with AK-47s. I can't imagine having to shoot kids that young I can't imagine having to shoot an adult.

I don't know if women could do that especially if they have kids of Their own. I don't know if they can live with their selves when the war was over.

There's a reason why the number of soldiers that died in the Vietnam War is outnumbered by the number of Vietnam veterans that committed suicide.

If you can get a Vietnam veteran that I'll talk to you about it just they're talkin just their description will shake you.

It's part of our social structure women aren't expected to control their emotions as much as men are. You can call me a misogynist for saying this but it's the truth.

Men are respected because men earned it. The world can be a savage place. Men have been willing to lay down their lives to make it a better place. Men who were oppressed took up arms and fought for their freedom. They did not sit around and whine wearing pink hats.

Yes all women did was raise the families and be responsible for the home. So unimportant to you. And yes they were all wearing little pink hats .Such disrespect for women is very sad.I guess women who raise families and homes don’t deserve respect only those who kill others

I don’t think you understand the word stereotyping. Did I say all men are stronger than all women? I said most and that isn’t stereotyping that is factual or do you think most women are stronger than men? If you believe that men are the nurturers how come most women assume that job? That stereotype comes from socialization

No war has ever been won with political correctness.

Who says many will see front line combat women tend to be better educated so it makes sense they would be channeled to more skilled work and could do work behind the lines and in non-combat areas to free up men to fight in combat. What matters is women sign up like men and get the same penalties for not doing so and then when the draft is started for I hope a just war they accept their obligations the same as any other citizen.

The "right"? Being told "go to war or go to jail" isn't what I would call a right. It's like saying you have the "right" to get cancer. I think the proper view is that since women have the right to vote, it is fitting that they should finally be burdened with some of the accompanying duty.

Wow what a complely disrespectful ******** you are, these men gave their lives to keep their loved ones back home safe and free.

Don't piss on their graves please and compare what they did to cancer. Most of them wanted to do the the right thing and it was not seen as a burden to them.

It was a selfless act of duty and a sence of great responsibility to their loved and what felt should protect.

Ovbiously you don't believe women have this in them and compare women doing this brave selfless noble act is equivalent to going to jail or having cancer.

    Shocking... but not unexpected.

Irrellevant. Can women fly drones? Can women be doctors and nurses in the various services? Have not women already successfully flown aircraft in combat zones? Are there not women who met the requirements for combat zones better than some men (not all or even majority)? Are there not jobs being filled by men better suited for the combat zones that women could fill?

Given all this reality, why shouldn't women be drafted as well should war require it? It isn't as much about political correctness, as it is about effective use of all resources. Any idea of women not being able to fulfill an large variety of roles in the MODERN military is simply old school thinking, being too stuck on the past. It's not even theory that it could work (women in the combat military). The Isrealis have already doing it for quite some time now. They even have mixed sex barracks with no more issues than separate barracks.

That's the way it use to be before the PC social engineering of the U.S. military beginning in the early 1990's.

It was the result of the Tailhook Witch Hunt when social engineering warriors aka liberals purged or destroyed the careers of over 300 Navy and Marine Corps best fighter pilots in the name of political correctness.

Ok so other than not bothering to provide any arguments and then supporting them through a link, you just took the lazy route.

That said, while I do need to delve a little deeper (one article title highly smacked of bias), nothing in the mission statement or principles contradicts anything I've said.

Oh, get off your high horse. We're talking about the draft. The people who thought it was a great honor to fight in war...signed up. The draft was specifically for people who didn't want to go. Now, you can pretend that having a winning ticket in a "death lottery" is something that people actually desired, but you're not fooling anyone.

And I didn't compare "what they did" to cancer; that's just a straight up lie. It takes some shady word-twisting to turn "what happened to these people sucks" into "what these people did sucks". I compared getting drafted (a thing that happened to them) to receiving a diagnosis of cancer. Since they both kill you, it's a pretty apt comparison.

Did you even read what he wrote? We have the draft because if we didn’t we wouldn’t have enough soldiers. So manyI sympathize with those who died in wars men gave their lives because they were drafted and have no choice. I ache for men who were opposed to the war like Vietnam and had to die for it

Yeah let’s overlook sexually assaulting dozens and dozens of women and men. After all they’re good fighters. You learn about a person by the side of the argument he chooses. I hope you don’t have a daughter
