Come on with this unequal pay nonsense. Women get equal pay. It's against the law for them not to. https://www.eeoc.gov/laws/statutes/epa.cfm
Well now you have. Women are paid equally to men. It's been the law since 1963. If they don't work as many hours as men, avoid dangerous jobs that men do not, that explains the discrepancy. Women tend to go into jobs and careers that don't pay as much. Compare a male carpenter to a female carpenter I'm willing to bet they get equal pay. Compare a teacher to a structural engineer than yes there is a difference in pay. One of the above professions is represented mostly by women and the other mostly by men.
Admire your passion and endurance for debating this issue. I have tried to present my opponents the government reports, academic papers, economic reasonings and simple logic, but they always just respond by waving their fingers and either throw a pejorative or bust out the good old "there is still an unexplainable difference of x% though!" Ugh. I have figured it is not worth talking about the "wage gap" because people are factually ignorant and economically incompetent. They will just never accept reality for what it is.
Well it can be like religion for some people. The old saying about leading a horse to water comes to mind. If people reject facts there is little anybody can do.
Doubtful. One demographics change, the prison population changes. Would LOVE to do time with some-a-dem womon folk tho.
This is a very real point. We want less violence, more conformance with the law, more dedication to the family, etc, etc. And on average, women show far more interest and ability related to living these goals.
A 40 year old Male teacher has sex with his 14 year old female student and a 40 year old female teacher has sex with her 14 year old male student, all other things being equal, should both teachers be given the same sentence???
What is stupid is not recognizing that the pendulum has swung too far in some cases such that necessitates men fighting against the inequality they are experiencing.
So, state what those cases are. That's what the women's movement is required to do. They see various inequalities and point them out. Then, those aspects get discussed and maybe they are discarded or maybe some tiny change happens.
I know what you mean. I look at Congress and I don't see males .. those poor white males just left out of power. I look at CEOs and I don't see any men. no men in law schools or Wall Street. So unequal. Poor white men have to compete with groups that they never had to.
It's difficult for women when they take time off to have a baby. Those are high strung positions and require full-time devotion. There are a few women that can cut it but they usually end up old spinsters having sacrificed their entire life to their high-powered career. That's not true about women not being in law schools. In fact you see a lot of ethnic groups in Wall Street today, but mostly certain particular ethnic groups.
One of the big one's is in relation to child support. Making a man responsible for the financial consequences of a unilateral decision of a woman to carry a pregnancy to term violates a few fundamental legal principles. 1) equality under the law 2) punishing one person for the actions of another
, there are many women that are great leaders. Are plenty of women that can handle it just as well as men and yet we don't accuse men of ending up old bachelors having sacrificed their entire life to their high-power career. What you were saying is women place is in the home. Of course there are women in law school, I was responding sarcastically to your male victimization. I know Wall Street quite well and yes there is a particular ethnic group and it still white man
We are talking about a separate child who is half his. He knew that if he got a woman pregnant only she would have the choice to carry it term or not. Whois the one person being punished? What is the inequality under law?
