If what I'm hearing from the MSM is accurate - by no means a guarantee - if Brandon steps aside or is sacrificed on the altar of the 25th, Kamala is the only candidate who can access any of the Biden/Harris campaign funds, even if she gets nuked at the convention. So it may just come down to money, and the Dems can't afford to change horses this late in the game.

Trump's best chance is Brandon staying put. 72% of Americans now believe Brandon is too old. To a lesser extent, Trump is tainted by the same stigma. Any Dem not pushing 80 gives them an automatic leg up that Brandon can never achieve.

The convention is free to run an open contest for the November candidate.

 

Once Biden is removed the VP is the next in line. That is the Constitution, Harris does not have to take a deal.

 

Please read what he actually said. He never denied that. He said Biden should step down, making Harris president, and that someone else should run for the election. No, the Constitution does not say that, if Biden dropped out of the election, Harris would automatically become the next nominee.

 

If Harris doesn't take the deal, Biden doesn't step down. It is all a prearranged package. It's in Biden's interest to take it rather than being removed from office by 25th amendment. It's in Harris' interest to take it in order to become President for certain, rather than take a chance at beating Trump. Plus she gets the perks and historical importance (although her presidential library might be a little small).

 

Why take the deal when you believe you can beat Trump? You underestimate Harris’ strong desire to become not only the first female president but black as well. Harris won’t play the white man’s game. She will also be able to select her VP. Harris knows where the skeletons are buried. She will have the power. She will have them make a deal with her. Ain’t DEI wonderful?! The party of stupid.

Harris had no traction in the field of candidates in 2020. She was chose as VP because there was no chance that she was a threat to Biden. I don't think she is in the inner circle of the deep state running the government in Biden's absence.
