Social Security is secure for the future. Sure baby boomers put a momentary strain on the system, but with many of the millennials NOT working they aren't earning their social security credits so they can't retire. No retirement means less strain on the Social Security System. Although I hope you don't mind all the homeless people this will produce.
No millenials paying social security means the opposite. Social security depends on today's workers to pay for yesterday's workers benefits. Without today's workers, it crashes (like all Ponzy schemes eventually does). The first people getting SS didn't pay much into it. It's been in a backlog since.
Mismanagement of SS funds by Congress has been the biggest problem. All of the problems mentioned in the link below were foreseeable. It's not the Boomer's fault or the Millenial's fault, it's the *******s in Congress who are at fault. That said, all Americans are going to end up paying for the price of their incompetence, one way or another. The longer it takes Congress to fix, the greater the pain. https://www.fool.com/retirement/2016/08/27/the-4-biggest-problems-facing-social-security.aspx
Meh. We're still in the "Boomer Age" of politics. We're at the tail end of the Boomer's control, but the political power structure has been built by decades of Boomerism. It wasn't Millenial politicians that decided to cut taxes while starting two long-term and very expensive wars and the Millenials certainly weren't responsible for the events leading to the Great Recession.
And they are dying out such is how the world turns. I'm 61. How old are you? Under 40? Under 25? If Millennials want to avoid another "Great Recession", they need to put down their iPhones and do something about it. Just "liking" posts bitching about the government does nothing.
LOL. They'll think different by the time they are 30 and trying to save for the future. Reality is a cold-hearted bitch.
The hurdle to earn basic SS benefits is extremely low. You can basically fart as a job for a few years and qualify. The benefits won't be very high, but tens of millions who have paid little into the system will get them. The failed socialist experiments in SS and Medicare need to be PRIVATIZED and REPEALED yesterday, with existing beneficiaries grandfathered in to some degree. I'd gladly give up my benefits as a part of just another failed corrupt Democrat experiment in graft.
It's common knowledge, and can be found anywhere. So don't attack the source if it offends any delicate sensibilities. Here's one: https://www.cnbc.com/2016/06/08/us-...g-for-jobs-at-a-frightening-level-survey.html
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-03-16/millions-of-manufacturing-jobs-could-go-unfilled That was from ever a year ago Since then jobs left open has gone up. If one isn't working today it's by choice.
