More on genes and intelligence.

'This article by Robert Plomin discusses the importance of genetics and intelligence in the development of talent. Plomin states that, "Most of what is currently known about the genetics of intelligence comes from twin and adoption studies, which have documented significant and substantial genetic influence." Genetic analyses have shown that across the life span genetic effects increase and "genetic factors are primarily responsible for stability during development but also affect age-to-age changes." Additional and focused research is needed to reveal the "magnitude of genetic effects." This article presents past and present research findings detailing the influence of genetic factors on talent development.

Although the phrase talent development means different things to different people, talent must certainly include intelligence. The word intelligence in the title of this paper is almost as contentious in the field of gifted education as is the other noun in the title, genetics. Putting the words together to discuss genetics and intelligence may not be politically correct in our zeitgeist, but I believe that the field of gifted education has much to gain by recognizing the importance of intelligence and the importance of genetic influences in the development of this key aspect of talent.'

5. Genome-wide Association Studies do not support the claim of racial differences in intelligence

- Genome-wide Association Studies demonstrate that intelligence is highly polygenic. Genome-wide Association Studies as a method is highly problematic.
Even in the best of such studies such as those on height only about 11% of the variance can be explained by a reasonable number of loci (8-10). The remainder of the variance was explained by over 1000 loci. Studies of genome-wide association studies and intelligence associated variants in Europeans could not be replicated. Fst values for intelligence associated variants found in literature gave no indication of racial association.

6. Anthropological and Archaeological research does not support the racialist position

- Anthropological research shows that human intelligence is an important trait with equal survival value. Traits of this nature do not show average differences between populations unlike traits of adaptive significance that differ depending on the environment. Human intelligence evolved with the slow emergence of linguistic behavior which is supported by biological data. The archaeological record shows that human survival strategies were the same during the Pleistocene Epoch indicating a commonality of general cognitive ability.

- Research indicates that intelligence is a polygenic trait. As such for the hereditarian theory to be true there would have to be differences between geographic populations at thousands of loci for there to be genetic differences related to intelligence between races. Hereditarians have never been able to demonstrate mechanistically how such a phenomenon is even possible therefore their scenario is ridiculous. Population genetic theory predicts that traits controlled by many genes do not show a clinal distribution for the trait. Instead the genes controlling the trait are scattered within the population. The scientific literature also indicates that natural selection for intelligence is uniform throughout the world. Furthermore based on scientific knowledge of human evolution all human populations have a commonality in intelligence. The evidence for this is that humans descend primarily from one distinct evolutionary lineage and humans became anatomically and behaviorally modern in Africa. There is no evidence from an evolutionary standpoint for human intelligence evolving differently in different regions and the recent emergence of our species (based on evolutionary time scales) indicate that there was no time for such an event to occur.

I already accept that intelligence is highly heritable and that scientists are making breakthroughs in our understanding of the biological underpinnings regulating intelligence.

My contention throughout this thread has been that there are no genetic differences related to intelligence between human races. You seem to have a very hard time understanding this.

 

The consensus amongst scientists is that of yet there is no concrete scientific proof one way or the other that shows the exact mechanisms that determine the extent to which enivornmental factors influence intelligence...everyone believes it plays some role...the overwhelming evidence indicates it is the minor role.

This argument centers on the effect of genetics and heritability on the development of intelligence in humans. Genetic determination is the combination of genes that makes us what we are, or creates a characteristic. For example, our genes determine that we have five toes. Heritability, contrastingly, is what causes differences in those characteristics. For example, how genetic differences cause a variation in the number of toes: some people are born with six toes. An estimate of the heritability of a trait tries to indicate how much of the variance of that given trait is due to genetic differences. This number is characterized by a decimal, or .XX. Some have argued that this estimate is as high as .75, meaning that fully 75% of all IQ variances can be attributed to genetic differences. Studies have shown this to be high, except in monozygotic (MZ) twins raised together. These twins share the same exact genotype. In this case, the correlation was as high as .88. In the study of MZ twins raised apart, the correlation was as high as .75. In contrast, Dizygotic twins, who share 50% of their genes on average, had a correlation factor of .53 when growing up together and .46 when raised separately. This seems to indicate that similarity of a genetic component has a direct influence on IQ scores. At the very least, it indicates a much higher influence than that of non-related children having a correlation of just .17' (Loehlin, Lindzey, and Spuhler, 1975).

INTELLIGENCE
The I.Q.'s of American Negroes are from 15 to 20 points, on average, below those of American Whites.

These Black\White differences have been demonstrated repeatedly by every test ever conducted by every branch of the U.S. Military, every state, county, and local school board, the U.S. Dept. of Education, etc. The same ratio of difference has held true over a 40 year period. (1 (26) (24)

With an average I.Q. of 85, only 16% of Blacks score over 100, while half the White population does. The Negro overlap of White median I.Q.'s ranges from 10 to 25 percent-- equality would require 50 percent. (31) (27) (16)

Blacks are 6 times as likely to have I.Q.'s of 50 to 70 which put them in the slow learner (retarded) category, while Whites are ten times more likely to score 130 or over. (15) (16) (1 (23)

The U.S. government's PACE examination, given to 100,000 university graduates who are prospective professional or administrative civil-service employees each year, is passed with a score of 70 or above by 58% of the whites who take it but by only 12% of the Negroes. Among top scorers the difference between Negro and White performance is even more striking: 16% of the white applicants make scores of 90 or above, while only one-fifth of one percent of a Negro applicants score as high as 90--a White/Black success ration of 80/1. Differences between Negro and White children increase with chronological age, the gap in performance being largest at the high school and college levels. (31) (26)
White/Negro I.Q. differences are constantly excused as results of environmental variations. but at least five studies that have attempted to equate socio-economic backgrounds of the two races indicate no significant change in relative results. As environment improves, the Negro does better but so does the White. The gap is not decreased. (26) In fact, extensive research by DR. G.J. McGurk, associate Professor of Psychology at Villanove University, reveals that the gap in intelligence between Blacks and Whites INCREASES where socio-economic levels of both races are raised to the middle classes.

FACT #10: In 1915, Dr. G.W. Ferfuson took 1000 school children in Virginia, divided them into 5 racial categories, and tested them for mental aptitude. On average. full-blooded Negroes scored 69.2% as high as Whites. Three-quarter Negroes scored 73.0% as high as Whites. One-half Negroes scored 81.2% as high as Whites. One-quarter Negroes scored 91.8% as high as Whites. All of these Blacks lived as and considered themselves "Negroes." Their environments and "advantages" or disadvantages were exactly the same. FACT #11: Results of the Army Beta test given by the U.S. Army to over 386,000 illiterate soldiers in WWI showed Negro draftees to be "inferior to the Whites on all types of tests used in the Army." Additionally, tests were conducted upon pure Negroes, Mulattoes, and Quadroons. It was found that "the lighter groups made better scores." (14)

FACT #12: Studies conducted with identical twins raised apart in radically different environments provide conclusive evidence that over-all influence of heredity exceeds that of environment in a ratio of about 3 to 1. (41)

FACT #13: Even when Blacks and Whites have the same backgrounds, in terms of family income and childhood advantages, Blacks still have average I.Q. scores 12 to 15 points lower than comparable Whites. This includes cases where Black children have been adopted by White parents. FACT #17: Among human races numerous studies have been made of the comparative weight of White and Negro brains with results that fell within the range of about an 8-12 percent lower weight for the Negro brain. Such studies have been conducted by Bean, Pearl, Vint, Tilney, Gordon, Todd, and others. (23) (27)

FACT #18: In addition to the difference in brain weight, the Negro brain grows less after puberty than the white. Though the Negro brain and nervous system mature faster than the white brain, its development is arrested at an earlier age which limits further intellectual advancement. (22) (27)

ANTHROPOLOGY


FACT #21: The name Homo sapien was first used by the 18th Century Swedish botanist Carolus Linnaeus. The word "sapien" means "wise." The name was originally used to speak of the White man and synonymous with "europaeus." As a result, many later taxonomists and geneticists believed that Negroes and other races should be classified as different species. In fact, Darwin declared in The Descent of Man that the varieties of mankind are so distinct that similar differences found in any other animal would warrant their classification in different species, if not different genera. FACT #22: For his mammoth work, The Origin of Races, Professor Carleton Coon, President of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists and the premier geneticist of the world, assembled massive evidence from geography, anatomy, genetics, physiology, comparative dentition, linguistics, archeology, and fossil records from 300 bone-bearing sites to verify his theory of pre-sapien racianation." FACT #29: ADDITIONAL DIFFERENCES

The hair is black, crispy, and "woolly" in texture, it is flat and elliptical with no central canal or duct like the hair of Europeans.
The nose is thick, broad and flat, often turned up nostrils exposing the red inner lining of the mucous membrane similar to an ape.
The arms and legs of the Negro are relatively longer than the European. The humerus is a trifle shorter and the forearm longer thereby approximating the simian form.
The eyes are prominent, iris black and the orbits large. The eye often has a yellowish sclerotic coat over it like that of a gorilla.
The Negro has a shorter trunk the cross-section of the chest is more circular than whites. The pelvis is narrower and longer as it is in an ape.
The mouth is wide with very thick, large and protruding lips.
Negro skin has a thick superficial horny layer which resists scratching and impedes the penetration of germs.
The Negro has a larger and shorter neck akin to that of anthropoids.
The cranial sutures are more simple than in the white type and close together earlier.
The ears are roundish, rather small, standing somewhat high and detached thus approaching the simian form.
The Negro is more powerfully developed from the pelvis down and the white more powerfully developed in the chest.
The jaw is larger and stronger and protrudes outward which, along with lower retreating forehead, gives a facial angle of 68 to 70 degrees as opposed to a facial angle of 80 to 82 degrees for Europeans.
The hands and fingers are proportionally narrower and longer. The wrist and ankles are shorter and more robust.
The frontal and paricial bones of the cranium are less excavated and less capacious. The skull is thicker especially on the sides.
The brain of the Negro on the average is 9 to 20% smaller than whites.
The teeth are larger and are wider apart than in the white race.
The three curvatures of the spine are less pronounced in the Negro than in the white and thus more characteristic of an ape.
The femur of the Negro is less oblique, the tibia (shin bone) more curved and bent forward, the calf of the leg high and but little developed.
The heel is broad and projecting, the foot long and broad but slightly arched causing flat soles, the great toe is shorter than in the white.
The two bones proper of the nose are occasionally united, as in apes.

FACT #30: Blood group studies made during WWII suggest the American Negro gene pool is about 28% white. --This despite all manner of institutional discrimination, social segregation, etc. Keep in mind that the results of test from true Black Africans would show even bigger differences from Whites. BEAUTY

FACT #45: The January l986 issue of the journal of Ethnic and Racial Studies, "Skin Color Preference, Sexual Dimorphism and Sexual Selection: a case of Gene-Culture Co-evolution?" by Peter Frost and Pierre Van der Herghe, stated that in any given race, the women tend to have lighter complexions than the men. Using standard ethnographic files from 51 societies on five continents which have recorded their preference for human skin color, the study found that 30 preferred lighter women and 14 preferred lighter women and lighter men. The cultures of India, China, Brazil and Bali, as well as the Arabs and Negroes regard the lightest women as the most beautiful. --perpetuating the aesthetic appeal of the ivory-skinned, rosy-cheeked, blue-eyed, blond "nordic ideal" of feminine beauty- -even though they themselves do not possess the genetic capacity to reproduce such an organism. Over time, the study said, the upper classes of all races have become lighter-skinned than their fellow countrymen because they have repeatedly skimmed off fairer women from the lower classes. FACT #46: Scientific research on what constitutes human beauty, in which 300 judges of various backgrounds were shown portrait photographs and asked to rate the beauty of the individual's face, has revealed that nordic Whites are universally recognized as the most attractive humans, even by Blacks. The judges were instructed to evaluate the faces solely on his or her "personal standards of beauty and not to consider popular norms." FACT #50: The 14th Amendment is invalid for the following reasons:

It was never ratified by three-fourth of all the States in the Union according to Article 5 of the U.S. Constitution. Out of 37 States, 16 had rejected it.
Many of the States who were counted as ratifying it, were compelled to do so under duress of military occupation. Any legal act entered into under force duress, and coercion is automatically null and void.
The fact that 23 Senators had been unlawfully excluded from the U.S. Senate, shows that the Joint Resolution proposing the Amendment was not submitted to or adopted by a constitutional Congress.
The intent of the 14th Amendment is repugnant to the original U.S. Constitution and the Organic Law of the land. It did not, and could not, repeal anything that was part of the Organic Law. Therefore the principles of precedent and stare decisis render it void. (23)

PORTUGAL

FACT #56: Haiti once had a promising future. Before 1789 as a French colony under White rule, San Domingo (Haiti) was as rich or richer in productivity as all the 13 American Colonies combined. FACT #57: After the Blacks massacred the last of the White population in 1804, Haiti remained a part of Santa Domingo, until 1844 when it became a separate "republic." Between 1844 and 1915 only one Haitian president completed his term in office. Fourteen were ousted by armed uprisings, one was blown up, one was poisoned and another was hacked to pieces by a mob. Between 1908 and 1915 the revolutions and assassinations increased so rapidly that a United States military occupation was needed to restore order. This lasted from 1915 to 1934. Thereafter followed twelve years of rule by a Mulatto elite which ended in the resumption of control by the Black military in 1946. INDIA

FACT #58: India's Negroid peoples have been subjected to numerous White invasions for over 5000 years, prompting the rise and fall of one civilization after another as the White invaders became absorbed into the non-White masses. SOUTH AFRICA
(Note: These facts will most likely change drastically now that South Africa has fallen under black rule.)

FACT #66: White people have lived in South Africa much longer than Negroes. There have been White settlements in South Africa for over 300 years, about the same length of time Europeans have lived in North America. Even 150 years after the first colonies around Capetown, at the beginning of the 19th Century, there still were no Blacks within 500 miles. The Blacks wandered in from central Africa later on, possibly fleeing the slave trade or due to famine. In fact, most of South Africa's Blacks were born in other countries. (29) ( (14)

FACT #67: South Africa is by far the wealthiest and most advanced country in Africa, producing nearly 75% of the continent's Gross National Product. It is almost completely self- sufficient so boycotts have little affect upon its economy. In fact most of Africa is dependent upon South Africa. South Africa is governed by a Western parliamentary republic and strictly segregated racially. South Africa grants complete self-government to the Blacks in their own areas of the country. FACT #68: Though South Africa is perpetually criticized by the world press for its racial separatism, its Blacks live better than the Blacks of any other African country and are multiplying rapidly and healthily. 87% of Black welfare costs are being paid by the White man. This includes food, clothing, training, housing, education an health care. --even old age pensions. (14)

FACT #69: Thousands of South African Blacks graduate from college every year, more than three times as many as in the rest of Africa combined. Every Black child is within walking distance of a primary school. Africa's largest hospital, which serves Blacks almost exclusively and performs over 1800 operations per month, is in South Africa. I already told you I was done arguing about that. You're developing an obsession with the subject.

I will make one final comment on the matter. Both Nisbett and Sternberg told me that the correlation data can be interpreted in different ways. A correlation could be due to a causal relationship between White ancestry and Black IQ or due to colorism.

Sternberg further said this:

So that research may not point to definitive conclusions either way. Nonetheless it is interesting the correlation between White ancestry and high Black IQ is low to negative rather than high. There are ways to use modern genetic research to assess whether racial ancestry and intelligence have a causal relationship without invoking colorism as a factor. If we looked at DNA profiles and found that ancestry informative markers indicating continental ancestry and genetic composition revealed that there was a stronger correlation between genetic ancestry and IQ than between physical appearance and IQ and this correlation was high you could have a compelling argument that intelligence level depends on racial ancestry. If the opposite is true, if physical appearance more strongly correlates with IQ than genetic ancestry then not only is there no relationship between racial ancestry and intelligence but colorism can be concluded to be a factor in IQ score differences.

 

The highlighted "FACT" undermines the rest of the post. A group with supposedly higher intelligence is living in far worse conditions that those with supposedly lower IQ. Maybe the people who compiled this list can add some sort of exception or swap this particular "fact" out with something else. A lot of these points are wrong on multiple levels, but I'll start with this one for now.

 

The whole list is garbage. But this is a tactic of racists. They don't want to debate they want to silence their opposition but drowning them with claims far too numerous to be worth your time responding to.

 

"Facts" 23 through 30 is a debunked lists stereotypes as Africa is the most genetically-diverse region in the world.

The rest of the post is the result of a criminal justice system favoring "whites." If justice was applied equally, we would see the list on crimes eliminated.

The crime part was addressed within my last two posts.

The Black family fared far better prior to the 1960s. This suggest a change in culture and environment, not genetics.

Regarding beauty, this is to be expected. Europeans and their descendants have an unrivaled propaganda machine. Nonetheless, what is portrayed in the media does not necessarily mean much in real life or even that this "beauty" is something positive for whites. For example, the white fertility rates are below replacement levels in some countries.

Regarding American History, it is rife with atrocity and institutionalized oppression. The same template can be found in South Africa's apartheid, Zionist apartheid in Palestine, the Australian treatment of the Aborigines, or anywhere else the subscribers of manifest destiny sets up shop. Throughout history, we can even see the same systems set up against other white people. The white-brotherhood/solidarity is actually a myth propped up by those oblivious to history.

Regarding Portugal and Haiti: When all the sanctions against the Haitians are lifted and have the French give the Haitians back the money they took from them for the slave rebellion, we can have a conversation about this.

 

Very different environments will yield very different results.

Again with Haiti, economic sanctions and paying pack a slave-holding regime...

If one is arguing in favor of genetics, "Fact #70" should be a different result. They should be doing better since the Soviet Union are far lighter than the South African Black people.

Another thing, it is claimed that the results will change under Black rule? But the whites should be able to perform just as well as they always have because it's more about genetics and less about environment! Alas, different environments, cultures, systems will yield different results. If indeed they fare horribly under Black rule, then should we not attribute the performance of a people to more of environment/culture and less on genetics?

Any argument claiming environmental factors account for the black/white high i.q. gap is simply illogical.....many very intelligent people are born into poverty...aka the smartest man in America. You claim waycism causes low i.q. yet no group in the world has suffered more persecution and discrimination based on their race than the Jews have...yet they have the highest i.q.'s. etc.etc.etc. and so on and so forth............there is not one environmental reason that you may claim causes low intelligence that some group somewhere has suffered more than Africans have..... yet they still have higher i.q.'s than the africans... thus your environmental claim is null and void.

Now of course some politically correct academian supported by some liberal university can and have conducted long and complicated research and try and use that to prop up the environmentalists contention for the cause of the gap...but it simply does not wash...and more and more genetic research is proving that the genes are the dominant factor in intelligence......it really is sad that some feel threatened by this....quite the reverse should be true....by insisting that they are equal....they essentially are denying themselves or their children and relatives the sort of education and training they really need....the sort of education that would really help them....not just a piece of paper that will never be of any value or use for them....other than for a very few. The great majority of disadvantaged children are being held back....not by white waycism as they have been taught to believe but by not having any marketable skills in the job market...coupled with a propensity for accumulating a very long rap sheet even before they graduate from H.S.

The inescapable fact is that nature through an evolutionary process has produced a end result of racial differentation in intelligence....the actual mechanics of which being ---determined by a genetic process. There are numerous findings that refute racist theories about human intelligence.
