That was more impressive than a successful launch.

Awwww, sad news to see the Russians embarrass the hell out of themselves in front of the place they invaded.

    lol.

What a joke Russia is. They resort to constant internet propaganda while their dictator pockets all of their cash.

Yea, nice try but no, that's meant to do that, its popping some decoy's for show... while the Russian ship in the OP is trying to launch a missile.... which seems to have err, popped a Putin?

But look if that is an anti-sub missile (SSN14) then perhaps it DID work, it just thought that little peninsula was an enemy sub maybe? I mean Russia is occupying Crimea so it is enemy territory after all and its long.... easy mistake comrade, have another.

the West makes a mistake it is better to seize the initiative from Russia in the splitting of Ukraine and to pull new countries formed on the shards of Ukraine in the Western world

The West doesn't take or seize, it invites participation.... which is inevitable anyway unless a nation wants to close itself into its own little sphere like the USSR did with its allies during the 20th century. If you follow, or aspire to follow the letter and intent of the UNHCR and engage legally with international trade then your pretty much already in the 'West'. Russia was in the West, but Putin is stuck in the oldskool 20th century mindset of state based power - which is a failed concept of power, when the purpose is to empower (the population) such as in the West. The Soviet mentality was state strength, authority and capability to project force for the good of the state, and viewed its citizens as tools of the state - basically completely backwards to the West.

July 18, 2015 during a practice firing at the US Atlantic coast (the coast of Virginia) on the American destroyer DDG 68 The Sullivans (type series Arleigh Burke Flight I, in service since 1997) there was an explosion surface-to-air missile Raytheon Standard SM-2MR Block IIIA .
After the release of a vertical launcher Mk 41 rocket engine exploded when the rocket was at an altitude of a few meters.
The USS The Sullivans was damaged.

    Photo for you.

By the way. In 2015, the Russian Navy will receive two submarines and eight warships of the main class, as well as dozens of smaller class warships and support vessels. This was announced by Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Borisov.

Let it comfort you. For Russia, it is a trifle compared with the acquisition the Crimea. And, accordingly, the full control of area of the Black Sea. Or if you like - change geopolitical balance in their favor.

By the way. When Alaska will become part of Russia, I would not mind even if the two missiles fired not normally.

Now you can continue to laugh.

I know terrible isnt it, the Russian warmongering, it does make me laugh.... the things we let Russia get away with... we should lock Putin up for crimes against humanity but that is just IMO. Your priorities are all wrong my friend.

What a headline ... wow! If anything of real interest happens, please wake me up again ... but please don't make of these many Western Fails that happens too, because same way boring uninteresting issues as this Russian Missile.

It's always more amusing when things go wrong when you are doing something for show, rather than for your own benefit.

Seems all of these new weapons systems still need a lot of work on both sides of the fence. Its hard to get some of these platforms really solid until a war breaks out and they are used for their intended purpose against a legitamate foe. But Im sure both of those weapons that recently failed are the type that eliminates the other guy before he can react, in fact I hear that a lot about these new weapons systems and the failure of ICBM technology due to technology countermeasures. This even after we have seen non nation terrorist groups hit naval vessels off Israel and just this month in Egypt with technology far less powerful and accurate as what the big boys would bring. I dont think the US or Russia is really ahead of the other when it comes to bad ass weapons systems that are legit on both sides and would be quickly improved and produced if a real war broke out between 1st world powers; which its not, and is not in the foreseeable future.

Would either of those ships discussed would have fired a single shot? Seems that even if one of the missiles failed, in a salvo it would not matter that much and you could afford a missfire, not that you would want to

The greatest monitering failure of SWIFT, or so I'm told, is that after ten years they still haven't found Putin billions and where he's hiding them...but don't worry, they will and you'll get your share.:roflol:

The Russians (Soviets) have always had some very attractive looking military vehicles. They basically built a "G.I.Joe military".
