Looks like I'll mostly be talking to myself in here. Big MLB and Phillies' fan Good news for the Phils -- just a few more hours till Opening Day! The bad news -- they have to face a fresh deGrom.
Frustrating loss for the Phils to open the season. The offense puts a five-spot on deGrom and their #2 pitcher (Nola) is unable to hold off Texas. Both Atlanta and the Mets win today...
Nola is frustrating at times. Has too many games where he looks unhittable and then just falls apart I was not a fan of the Soto trade , but hopefully unlike today, he proves me wrong
Really early in the season, but I think MLB is gonna have to tweak this pitch clock, Ind. I'd bump it up to 20 seconds with bases empty, and 30 seconds with a runner on. Things just seem way too rushed for pitchers with the current rule. Was out on the road last night bouncing between the Mets' game and some other radio stations. Almost every time I flipped the game back on there was a commercial break cuz innings were over so quickly. Anyway, I believe the Phils have now lost ten straight games to Texas going back to 2015 or so, including dropping all four last year when Texas lost 94 games overall. They need to end this nasty streak beginning this afternoon with their ace Wheeler on the hill.
Agree with you @Mr. July on changing the pitch clock. and you are right about the Phils struggling with the Rangers
Well, the Texas nightmare continues for the Phils. Just an embarrassing way to start the season for the reigning NL champs.
I'm a seasonal Detroit fan. I only deal with one season at a time. Now that the Red Wing's season (and U. of M's basketball season- not Detroit but I'm a graduate) is over I can focus on baseball. Turns out that it looks like the Tigers still suck, but I'm all in- at least until August when the Lion's season fires up (pretty sure the Tigers will be out of contention by then anyways). So go Tigers!
Tigers off to a brutal start too, Malarkey. Now they have to go to Houston. Mets beat Miami again, I see. Different lineup for the Phils tonight. They somehow need to get a win here...
At least Soto looked better tonight, Ind. Phils finally get some decent pitching and then, of course, can't score. Just a horrible way to start the new season.
Yeah, Tampa is off to a tremendous start. Now Boston comes to town for four. Padres smashing the Braves tonight. Mets lost today too. Phils actually deserved to lose today's game by ten runs given how sloppy and poorly they played. Now they have to face Sandy tomorrow in South Philly.
Totally forgot about Gibby signing with the Birds. With the Phils luck, Ind, Segura will probably get a game-winning hit at The Bank this week.
Ex Phillies doing well against us, seems to be the norm. I remember Galvis killing us when he was on the Padres (hit a slam)
It won't surprise me if the Tampa Bay Rays get into the World Series this year. The Tampa Bay Rays are the best in 2023. The Oakland Athletics are the worst around and the team will probably move to Las Vegas before the end of the decade. Whan this happens there will no more major league sports franchises in Oakland ever again.
Houston sweeps the series in Atlanta, eh. Now head to Tampa this week to take on those red-hot Rays. Mets could jump into first place in the NL East with a win in San Fran later today. Surprising Pittsburgh and my man Cutch have a nice little win streak going, I see, with the Dodgers coming to town. Was pretty much a must-win game for the Phils this afternoon. Ya just can't split a home series with a struggling team like Colorado. Good to see them take care of business and get back near that .500 mark. Also good to see the younger guys (Stott, Bohm, and Marsh) really stepping up this season with Harp and Hoskins out. Casty having a solid month as well.
