Argentina is not a western democracy.,
I am 100% correct, and your response indicates you know you cannot argue otherwise.
If you can do something only because the state allows you to do it, that something is not a right.

Look at you, still unable to comprehend that the US system, like all other western democracies, it set up so the majority does not always win.
Oh, and congrats on coming up with one of the two things that means even less than the "popular vote" for President -- the "Senate popular vote",
The other by the way, is the "house popular vote".

I'm done. You said "Argentina is not a western democracy" even though I provided proof it was. You wrote the same thing again. I asked you to specify which term you were contesting and you wrote the same thing a third time. You're wrong and I will waste no more time so you can copy and paste the same garbage.

As for my right to vote, if you re-read my response, or have someone else do it for you, you will finally understand what I have written again and again and again is absolutely true. The state can appoint electors. Once it has chosen NOT to do so, the citizens of the state have an absolute right to vote. It really isn't that difficult. If you do decide to write the same thing again in response, I will merely write "your comment is nonsense. See my response, above" so as not to waste any more time with this nonsense. Bye. :)

You quote "senate popular vote" despite the fact I didn't write that. I merely wrote that the Republican senators that hold the majority of seats in the Senate received fewer votes than the Democratic senators that hold fewer seats. That is due mostly to the Republican's blatant and rapacious gerrymandering, but if we can get a few new states, and win some new statehouses in this census year, perhaps we can remedy that also.

I have always understood that the seat of power cannot reside in a state. Perhaps I'm wrong about that, but I think that's why it doesn't happen.

You "poof" of Argentina being a western democracy was that Argentina is in the western hemisphere.
Germany is in the eastern hemisphere and is a western democracy.
Japan is in the eastern hemisphere and is a western democracy
Israel is in the eastern hemisphere...
    Australia...
    New Zealand...
    Sweden...
What does that do to your "proof"?
Pro tip: "Western" does not refer to location.
    Fact remains:
No western democracy elects its head of government by popular vote of the people.
Nothing in your response changes the fact your "right" to vote for President is actually a privilege granted to your by your state.
It's not -my- fault you refuse to understand this, but if you need to throw a tantrum and cry on the corner, be my quest.

    A distinction w/o a difference.
    :snort:
Tell us - in precise terms:
How did the GOP use gerrymandering to give itself control of the US senate?

Does the president sign budgets into law?
Literally nothing is the right wings fault is is? To be such a proud party they sure seem like ineffectual simps.
They have so many enemies; the media, education, the voters, logic, RINOs, democrats, the youth, voter protection laws, truth, goodness

When you choose to understand that "western democracy" has nothing to do with physical location, let me know.
    Fact remains:
No western democracy elects its head of government by popular vote of the people.
    Indeed.
    What's more sad than that?
It's the best you could do.
... it only further demonstrates that your supposed "right" to vote for President is actually a privilege.

As discussed in US v Cruikshank:
The right to vote, like the right to free speech and the right to keep and bear arms "is not granted by the Constitution; neither is it in any manner dependent upon that instrument for its existence" -- your "right to vote for President" is --entirely-- dependent on the Constitution, the Constitution of your state, and the laws of your state for its existence, and therefore cannot be a right.
    https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/92/542/

    Boiled down for you:
If the state gives it to you, and the state can take it away, it;s not a right.

    And further:
Tell us - in precise terms:
How did the GOP use gerrymandering to give itself control of the US senate?

    You may now run away.

<COMMENTS EDITED> you are trying to blame congress when the president has the power to veto — the president is as much to blame as congress when he puts his name on a piece of legislation.

Strange how the President was once considered the leader and now his supporters cheer him as being so ineffectual and incompetent that he isn’t responsible for a single thing outside representing the trolls and partisan hacks in his party (obligatory; this statement does not represent anyone on this forum)

Except you didn’t... but ok great, you agree that trump is to blame for jacking up deficit spending every year he has been in office. Wonderful!

So your attempts to blame congress instead of just agree was simply to, hear yourself?

Why do you feel your question is relevant? I never stated otherwise...

Interesting that you say I am playing games because I posted a factual statement and you felt the need to defend trump’s honor.

As to your question feel free to google it yourself, I could absolutely care less as it is irrelevant to trumps culpability

If you call for balanced budgets but support trump who — in four years — spent double what Obama did who — in eight years — spent double all presidents prior to him... then one should look at their party choices. Or don’t, that would be the easiest option.

Republicans only pretend to care about spending when democrats are in power. Once they get the big chair - "Fiscal responsibility? What fiscal responsibility?"

And when the GOP is in charge the Dems want to triple whatever the GOP wants to overspend - see the COVID relief.

When have I ever said otherwise. I have no issues with who you voted for, just the incessant need to defend his honor when you can even admit that the president is the final say on the passage of such bills — which was my entire point before the whining and of topic defense started.

    I

    Will

    Continue

    To

    Ignore

    Strawman

    Arguments

    Can you hear me now?

The Senate has got nothing to do with gerrymandering. Their elections are statewide, and the state borders have been established for many decades now.

Gerrymandering does favor republicans, in general. They gained over 20 seats in congress, even though the voting history suggested it should be the other way.

In my district, people who live across the street from each other are not in the same district, but the guy on the West side of the street shares a rep with people to the east, and the guy on the East shares a rep with people to the west.

    That's bleeped up.

So, a democratic country located in the western hemisphere is not a "western democracy." Ok.

"Liberal democracy, also referred to as Western democracy, is a political ideology and a form of government in which representative democracy operates under the principles of classical liberalism. It is characterised by elections between multiple distinct political parties, a separation of powers into different branches of government, the rule of law in everyday life as part of an open society, a market economy with private property, and the equal protection of human rights, civil rights, civil liberties and political freedoms for all people."

    ***

"There is agreement amongst several intellectuals and organisations such as Freedom House that the states of the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Japan, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, South Korea, Taiwan, the United States, India, Canada,[18][19][20][21][22] Mexico, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Israel, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand[23] are liberal democracies,"

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberal_democracy#Liberal_democracies_around_the_world

I consider this discussion closed. I will not bother to address the rest of your nonsense. Bye.
