    Opposition to brainwashing always exists.

Almost everything happens given there are 4+m teachers in this country. Your thought this is a problem is absurd.
Very few teachers try to parent students.

Hey, that's a catchy phrase. It's application to school curriculum would be an enormous mistake.

What you tolerate, you also condone. When ignored, few become many.

Are you willing to tolerate free speech that you disagree with? In that case, you no longer disagree with it, you now condone it. According to your logic, if you are willing to tolerate neo-Nazis being able to publish books, you condone neo-Nazism. Which is it? Do you support free speech or do you condone everything everyone says?

Sorry, correction: Do you support free speech AND condone everything everyone says?

Usurping parents is not something teachers' unions or school managements support.

My district is in a conservative Christian community (we have a Baptist university). By far, the largest complaints have been about deeply religious Christians getting pushy with their beliefs. That stuff doesn't go down with religious parents, either.

No reasonable person could extract that from my post. I already stated that I oppose teachers using heir position and influence to impose beliefs even if I agree with them. What is your position?

I never needed to talk politics, especially as a student.

Politics is not need to be an effective citizen.

But an English teacher doesn't need to delve into politics as a discussion.
Unless of course, some life experience in the classroom happens to present itself.
But the teachers opinions should be left out of it.

You might have benefitted from learning how to muster public support for or against government actions. I taught those skills in American History.
I believe I can prove otherwise.
It might be useful if you're reading, "The Handmaid's Tale" by Margaret Atwood.
Teaching students how to take effective political action is not about presenting the teacher's opinion.

Ah, so we are just going to pretend teachers are robots and never veer off the approved curriculum?

    Cool story.

    Lol.

Except you clearly didn't read your own study.

The victimization and increased danger of the crimes against LGBTQ folks is perpetrated BY LGBTQ folks.

So... you just got done telling me parents being subordinate is fiction...

Then went on to tell me why parents should be subordinate due to lack of qualifications.

    Makes complete sense.
