Broke Back Mountain the movie was about gay cowboys. I have long accepted that homosexual humans are part of the human condition. The movie was just an artistic attempt to portray it in the cowboy culture.

And apparently cross dressers and transvestites are also a naturally occurring phenomenon, but glorifying the weirdness to children is a bridge too far IMO.

Montana has taken a step in the right direction.

Calling names is just silly. Make your argument work. Everyone believes we need government in some capacity. The whole point of the Constitution is to define that limited capacity.

People grooming or attempting to sexually indoctrinate kids is one of those moral and policing roles that we need government to handle. If you've got too much salt on your fries, probably not.

I didn't call you anything, I simply explained what you desire. You celebrate MO government creating laws to criminalize something which has never taken place. I believe in less invasive government, so that's the difference. We do not need laws to criminalize things which are not happening. You need the government to play the role of a moral police. You are trying to turn this into "grooming and sexually indoctrinating kids", when the MO law has literally nothing to do with it, and that shows you are pushing the agenda which you hear from RW sources.

Yes. If love can be defined (I'm not sure that it can) then same-sex couples are no less smitten than we heterosexuals are.
I'm with you one thousand percent, if not more.
    Agreed.

How many drag queens were reading to children in Montana schools prior to this ban?

Too many for sure and those states that haven't had any ought to exercise pre-emptive solutions. It's like making murder illegal. It should be illegal in all states no matter how many are committed.

The better question is how many will be reading after....

So they outlawed something that wasn't even happening. What a huge win for the people of Montana. What's next? Are they going to mandate that it is cold in winter or that the sun rise in the east?

That would be the climate change thread where that is discussed. They're the ones outlawing nature and trying to control cow farts and so on.

You are the one ignoring points, not me. You are trying to defend bigger and more intrusive government, and in order to do it, you insist the issue is about something it never was.

And you are free to have that baseless faith-based claim. It's a poor excuse for the authoritarianism that the right is pushing.

Mere denial won't convince the millions of parents who have seen it first hand.

Bigger and more intrusive. Exactly what will be added besides this law to this bigger and more intrusive government? Will there be newly hired and staffed divisions of police to patrol libraries and schools hunting down drag performers?

Tripling down on nonsense is what you are doing here.

This is a new law. It will simply be enforced if someone calls on it or if police witness it, just like every other law. The same government will enforce it with the same resources it already has to enforce all the other laws.

    Lame and pathetic.

Adding laws for the sake of adding laws is "more intrusive government" and since you admit someone will have to enforce the new laws, then clearly you need more government employees. More laws, more enforcers. Common sense. You want a big daddy government? Yes, you do, and you are getting it in places like Florida. Montana, Texas etc

Constantly trying to insult other posters is a losers tactic.

You're welcome to link to anything, anywhere that anyway supports your contention that there will be any new positions or anything new at all beyond the law.

    Go for it.

The Montana law is ridiculous overreach and should be struck down. The other laws I have no problem with. Kids shouldn't be subjected to lewd sex talking people, in drag or not.

Who gets to decide what is in the public’s interest? Seems to me that it is whoever holds the most power or is best at gaming the system. I could only support a ban that could provide evidence of such readings being harmful to children. I would see banning the harmless as anti-democratic and veering off towards authoritarianism.

Its ridiculous because it criminalizes something that never happened in MO, so basically they create laws just for the hell of creating laws.

The public decides when they elect the representatives who pass laws like this. You call it harmless. The public who elected these representatives does not.

You say it never happened. This ia a Democratic trend lately to keep declaring that the new laws are criminalizing things that never happened while also being triggered about the fact it can't happen.

    CRT never happened.
Teachers talking about their gender and sexual orientation k-6, never happened.
Minors being operating on for gender surgery, never happened.
Drag performers in front of children, never happened.

The gaslighting isn't going to work.

Well, in this case it actually never happened. If you prefer to pretend it was happening, then so be it. You got played.

    If you say so.
