I've repeatedly made the argument that despite biological limitations, homosexual couples can and do have children. What you haven't answered is why the parents of those children should be denied the benefits of marriage simply because of their sex.

In my opinion, nothing. Do you think there is a compelling interest in excluding them?

 

Wrong, I have the history, you're the one grasping at straws. Name me ONE successful society anywhere in history that's gay or has put the stamp of "normal" on men having sex with each other or condoned same sex marriages.
Get a grip. Gay isn't NORMAL. It might be a person's preference, fine, but that doesn't make it natural/normal any more than someone standing on a street corner because they prefer to be a stop sign. And, you know what, just because I can disinguish between normal and abnorminal dosen't mean I'd hate either one, it simple means I know the difference.

 

So nothing, you have nothing? Because there was nothing in your post of any substance towards the question I asked. I'm not interested in 100 or 1,000 years ago in some other people's society. Right now, can you give me anything to substantiate your doomsday scenarios where you can show a solid correlation to same-sex marriage? And like I said before, you have states where it's been legalized already. Surely there must be a plethora of information you can use to back up your claims.

 

Don't you remember when left-handedness became acceptable and lefties treated as normal rather than the sinister sort of people that they are? It was armageddon! I'm surprised that the nation recovered. If it doesn't apply to the average person, it must be purged!

1) THOUSANDS of years & THOUSANDS of societies
OR
2) A few states who've legalized gay marriage.

But you're the one who has made the claim that same-sex marriage will cause terrible things. I've simply asked you to back it up with real world evidence. You've steadfastly refused.

After repeatedly asking and repeatedly having you dodge or ignore my request, I can only conclude that you have no real world evidence and your claims are propped up solely and exclusively by your own prejudices because those don't need to be substantiated as they are an emotional response, not an intellectual one.

But my offer stands. If and when you care to put something of substance on the table towards your point, I will be ready. However, I shan't be holding my breath. Not one person has ever even tried to substantiate their claims about same-sex marriage doomsday predictions. Not one. And I've asked quite a few folks.

Gosh, one would almost think there ISN'T any evidence that same-sex marriage is going to be the downfall of anything except traditional rotten bigotry being a basis for a law.

The ideal situation is raising a child with a mother and father in the same house. No other arrangement comes close.

Of course, sometimes life happens. Divorce is common, some spouses die, gays have kids, etc. In those situations, most people (usually) do the best they can for the child.

Even with a father and mother, there's no guarantee a child will be raised well. But that's what gives the child the best chance.
