A political shift is taking hold across the U.S. as tens of thousands of suburban swing voters who helped fuel the Democratic Party's gains in recent years are becoming Republicans.

More than 1 million voters across 43 states have switched to the Republican Party over the last year, according to voter registration data analyzed by The Associated Press. The previously unreported number reflects a phenomenon that is playing out in virtually every region of the country — Democrat and Republican states along with cities and small towns — in the period since President Joe Biden replaced former President Donald Trump.

But nowhere is the shift more pronounced — and dangerous for Democrats — than in the suburbs, where well-educated swing voters who turned against the Republican Party in recent years appear to be swinging back.…

he GOP is getting a lot of.voters to siiitch over from other parties. The growth is across the country. From innner suburbs to outer suburbs to the exurbs the GOP has won over voters. The frustration with Biden and his failed policies is strong.

This AP news story is long and detailed in its description of GOP gains at the expense of the democrats.

I hesitate to believe it tbh. A cultural shift is absolutely occurring, that much is obvious. The left is adapting alrdy to try and compensate for it by pretending they aren’t nearly as woke or radical as they have been for years.

that being said political shifts tend to lag behind cultural shifts. But I am hopeful this is true.

the SC decision just lost many of those "switches" IMO, in fact i know trump supporting women who are incensed about the ruling
so perhaps way more are shifting LEFT

Voting in a national election won’t change the ruling, but voting in state elections can get their state to accommodate their wishes. Also, while those women can’t change the ruling, they should look at gas prices and inflation and see if that’s the path they want to continue to travel on. Women can prevent getting pregnant, they can’t prevent high gas prices and inflation unless they vote correctly. Besides, how many women will really need abortions and can’t get them? It’s not impossible.,

The SCOTUS has helped pour fuel on the dumpster fire that is the GOP. Women, who outnumber Men in the Country will vote in much larger numbers for the Dems.

all of them view the issue as a womans rights issue, sorry....and the economic mess is fallout from a world wide pandemic sorry again..as for myself for years i have forecast the power on the right will reach a zenith and when the fallout from three radical SC justices becomes widely known along with the splintering of diehard trumpers hit the fan the evangelical grip on the right will cause a mess..the only thing remaining is the tendency to vote opposing party in "off" years

Trump wanted prices higher, now we got it, thanks Trump, he was right, this is GREAT for the oil and gas industry, course it SUCKS for consumers

Trump lowered supply during Covid, now that demand is picking up, supply is not there

There is a lot going on right now, but I don't know how much is going to effect voting in November. There are plenty of issues to use to get out the vote, whether or not that plays out, who knows.

Women lead the pro life movement so that’s not going to change the equation much. Also a lot of pro life Hispanic women are moving to the GOP.

You’re bringing up this covid lockdown issue yet again after it’s been repeatedly debunked?

i know many trump supporting women who are just plain women who have jobs and family and only watch fox news types, they dont have the time to get real "active" in politics however they took their "women rights" for granted, also hispanic women are catholic
and the pope has come out in favor of restricting guns, have you figured that in as well?

You'll be surprised at how many women find aborting disgusting! The ones you are referring to are hardly the norm, normal Women a far smarter and take precaution then the others... And the even smarter know this can continue at a state level IF they have a following that believe abortion over precaution is the best way to prevent unwanted pregnancies ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Look at the dates of these items and the dates fuel started it’s precipitous rise.

    There is a correlation

Also the formula shortage was exacerbated by the foolish import limits that your man imposed.

But I know, facts are irrelevant

you have no idea of how many women have good reason why they cannot take the "pill" for other medical reasons...besides that we all know the SC is taking on contraception as well...and i wouldn't call any trump supporter very smart, just going along with emotional appeal of fox news is all, the ones i know already have children and work and just dont have time to thoroughly research political topics, and i agree that abortion is not good, but considering all the real life issues involved it should be an option

How many voters will accept $5+ gas per gallon, 10% inflation, rising interest rates, and a recession in order to protest what the Supreme Court did? Those that do will deserve all of the above continuing as a result.

So they think it's a better idea to have unprotected sex and then have a procedure to remove the results of their stupidity! Got it!

It's irrelevant because, just like the left play the blame game on the Republican in office the same game works just as well with a Democrat president, especially one as stupid as this one is :)

Yes, April and May of 2020 during and right after the 45 days to slow the spread lockdowns during which with so many at home demand dropped dramatically and the futures price for a barrel of oil dropped below $0 and the stock market was tanking. The Russians and Saudis were dumping on us in a predatory manner to drive domestic producers out of business. Trump stopped that with the texts you use to protect domestic industry. Getting the prices above $0 was a good thing. When Trump left office gas was still under $2 a gallon and not rising further until Biden’s actions.

So you do understand supply and demand. You just choose not to apply it when it isn’t your team taking the heat.

There are a few names for that.

Did the Russians and Saudis take the supply back to the levels before trump intervened in the market? Or are they still low?

Most women voters are concerned about being able to afford food to put on the table than getting an abortion.
    See for yourself....

Most people care more about the economy than abortion: Poll (msn.com)

A Republican POTUS does not have a way to stop inflation. It is due to high gas prices.
