So either it was a Ukrainian missile or just more russian incompetence.

Well, Ukrainians reported it first, so I gravitate towards the idea of Ukraine bombing this warship. :)

    Russkis "claim" ship caught fire???

Likely excuse to cover up actual missile strike?:))

    If true....this gotta hurt ...bad!

They also claimed that landing ship, and footage subsequently released makes that look very unlikely.

Either way its a win! If the war goes on for a few more months Russia may sink its entire Black Sea fleet. ;)

They'd need those Harpoon missiles Boris promised (which I've yet to see any word of) plus a little help from some 'friends' with precise targeting data to do that. Personally I think Boris's promise of harpoon missiles is unlikely to come to fruition since Britain would have to build & test a ground based launching system for them to start with. Better NATO 'sells' Ukraine some similar systems that are already in service. Regardless 'bon voyage Moskva'. Only two of her class left. If Ukraine does have access to a even a small supply of anti ship missiles I can see Russia ordering any remaining large naval assets in the Black back to port or else out into the Med where they will be 'safe' until the war is over.

No, that is not quite true... the Russians responded to Ukraine's killing of thousands of Russian people in the Donbas = Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Claims of those killings are known to be lies.

Ya never know with the Russkies - false flags and sabotage are never beyond the realm of possibility.

However, if the Ukrainians didn't strike that scow I think it's more likely that the general incompetence of the Russian military was responsible - crappily built and/or installed systems malfunctioning, lousy maintenance, or sailors f*cking up in one way or another.

Ukrainians hit Moskva with their own anti-ship Neptune missile.

Ground based launch systems for Harpoons already exist, but I'm not sure how easy they are to procure. I suspect this was a bit of a Boris thought bubble.

However, even if Ukraine doesn't get some sort of anti-ship missile Russia may well sink its own fleet. They are off to a pretty goos start.

I'll celebrate just about any degradation of Russian military capabilities, same as I would for the Chinese, North Koreans, or Iranians.

I know but I believe they have a limited supply of them and not every missile fired is a kill. So as is the case with most advanced weapon systems Ukraine is stuck having to ask for more.

Veterans Today is an American pro-Kremlin and conspiracy theory website. It describes itself as a "military veterans and foreign affairs journal", but the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) had said "the anti-Israel bent on VT can slide pretty quickly into overt anti-Semitism."[1]

Thank you for your input Osama bin Laden. Too weak to target the military so you suggest going after civilians.

The Western media is not one iota better...
CIA Admits Feeding Americans False Info About Ukraine

    By Ron Paul:
Late last year, a Gallup poll showed that Americans’ trust in the mainstream media has fallen to its second lowest level on record.
Only seven percent of Americans responded that they have a “great deal” of trust in the media.
That loss of trust has been well-earned by the mainstream media, and it explains the massive growth of independent media and alternative voices on social media. The response to the rise of independent media voices has been a rush to “cancel” any voice outside the accepted mainstream narrative.
