Mueller complained that Barr’s letter did not capture ‘context’ of Trump probe

Those are both HORRIBLE attempts to excuse Barr for his 2 lies under oath... I'm the first to admit his 4 page summary wasn't a lie, but it also certainly was misleading to the American public. I know Barr likes to split hairs, but after reading Vol 2 of the Mueller report myself, that's clear as glass.

But also, there is no valid explanation for the 2 exchanges under oath covered in your URL. Barr made the mistake of NOT being vague and giving Yes/No answers instead, which I normally respect. However, he just picked the wrong option on those 2 occasions.

Are those perjury, since he was under oath to Congress?? The Van Hollen exchange can go either way, but the Crist exchange is a clear indisputable lie, with what we know now. Is it a BIG lie?? No, but that's the level of acceptability we've sunk to in 2019.

This hearing is a non-issue.The donks are just trying to denigrate Barr as they front run the forthcoming indictments. In doing so, they hope to lesson the impact of those indictments - as damning as they will be - on the lack of credibility of the left.

“I suspect that they probably wanted more put out, but in my view, I was not interested in putting out summaries or trying to summarize,” he added.

- How is that a lie or even misleading? He doesn't know who, and he takes a guess as to what he assumes the issues are. A correct assumption

 

Maybe Barr misunderstood the question... It was more than 7 words in a row... In which case, impeachment for incompetence vs perjury might be considered...

 

Republicans couldn't get the votes to impeach Rosenstein. How will the (D)'s impeach Barr?

I really would have no idea who saying anything, since it's unnamed, and moreover, wouldn't have spoken to anyone but Mueller....but as Barr also said, it could likely be that not enough was put in the letter Barr sent to Congress. Which apparently, was correct.

You are correct in that neither 1 or 2 is the question being asked.... The question being asked (poorly by Crist) is - Are you aware of any dissatisfaction with your 4 page summary from the Special Counsel's office.". The answer clearly needs to be yes, since he read Mueller's letter on 3/28. Anything else is suspect.

But I will allow that it was a confusing question to a man appointed by Donald Trump.... Not listening carefully gets another pass by the right...

 

That might be what he wanted to ask, but it's not what he asked. Another poorly worded question by the left, and then a failed "gotcha" attempt. Either way the answer given addresses it correctly, and Barr made the Dem look silly.
