My Fellow Leftists!

It is time to separate ourselves from the plague that is SJWs. They are a scourge and a blight on the left and threaten to take over. What with their trigger warnings, safe spaces, inter-sectional feminism, misandry, free speech hating and a myriad of other useless and harmful blathering. Because so many on the left have to fight these SJW, they're getting heat not just from the SJW but also the right. Social Justice Warriors are creating a platform that many on the Left cannot stand on, and will likely go elsewhere. Now I will show you what has been done by them, in order to not appear like a raving loon.

Attacking people they don't agree with: Look at Black Lives Matter people and their reaction to Milo Yiannopolis. Rushing the stage at a private talk and threatening Milo with violence. What ever happened to the idea of "If people are wrong, let them speak as loudly and publicly as possible so they can be made fools out of"?

Defending one type of misogyny while supporting another: They attack Christianity at every turn, yet say nothing about Islam. Since when were these religions not equally misogynistic? Why are they defending Islam so vehemently?

The US apparently has a rape culture, yet when an actual rape culture shows up, they're completely silent or worse, excuse it. This is evident in the SJW treatment of rape gangs in Germany during New Years Eve celebrations. They won't even recognize that Sweden has had to implement a Rape Education course for migrants.

Video Games are evil: Let's not forget gamergate, where all gamers without exception were called sexist for objecting to the lack of journalistic ethics.

Preference for one dictionary definition, but disdain toward another: This is viewed when SJW challenge the use of the word Feminism by quoting the dictionary, yet they'll also make the argument that using the dictionary definition of a word (Racism) is too simplistic and lazy thinking.

These actions and more are doing nothing but eroding the Left and giving the Right unlimited ammunition in an argument. SJWs are making Leftists look ridiculous with their over sensitivity and political correctness. It's a problem that only we on the Left can solve, so let's do it.

 

I don't much care for SJWs. They seem to be nothing more than angry people looking for an outlet. The right has its version as well in extreme right-to-lifers. Probably a few others, as well. The Bundy gang could be described as SJW.

I agree that everyone should disassociate from SJWs, left and right.

 

Most of them are also middle class twenty somethings who feel they're qualified to tell everyone else about the hardships of poverty and what not.

 

Yeah, kids are like that. I preferred the tree huggers. They were mostly harmless, and the environment is actually a good cause. These new kids are ego driven authoritarians, and I agree, they have money.

 

Meh, I detest all religions equally, yet I respect people's right to believe and don't criticize christianity or any other religion unless someone's bothering me with trying to sign-up.

And I like video games. My kids play them all the time. They're very good for hand-eye coordination, problem solving and reasoning. I just think they can also be addicting and I've seen a lot of kids who have their lives overtaken by them so they should be played in moderation.

As for black lives matter...like most groups, things that start with good intentions often turn sinister when you get groups of people together....particularly around certain ideologies. In fact, that's why I wouldn't join a religion or any other affiliation.

I'm a feminist but wouldn't join any feminist movement. I believe in equal rights for equal responsibility...that's what being a feminist means to me. That I have a responsibility not to leech off a man financially and if I want to be treated equally that I have to do my fair share and treat men with the respect that I would like to be treated with.

So I don't know if I'm an SJW but if I am, I have zero intention of changing.

 

Why does everyone hate young people these days? I really like young people...I have two daughters and think that many of their generation are very insightful and disciplined. I'm constantly amazed at how intelligent, self-aware, kind and hard-working my kids are. I really enjoy when they bring friends to my house...I find them fascinating to talk to.

 

I love young people. We were specifically talking about SJWs, who generally are younger people. When I say 'kids,' I mean young SJWs, not all kids. I know a lot of great young people.

I find it strange that you seek to distance yourself from one label because it can carry negative connotations (SJW) yet hold on to a similar one that can carry similar connotations (leftist).

I’ve never understood this need to label people (especially ourselves) in this way since as I see it generic labelling can only serve to overshadow our actual views and opinions on individual points and issues because they imply (or lead people to assume) default positions. That’s why these labels are most effectively (though usually dishonestly) used to attack other people, attaching the label to them to presume their position on an issue, effectively creating a starwman for them. Why even open yourself up to that kind of thing?

 

Definitely a scourge on humanity, an existential threat, all of these evil young people expressing ideas and opinions for the first time in their lives! Did you know some are even idealistic and think things somehow need to change!

Most strongly oppose it as a conservative political group, but I know literally tons of liberal christians. They still believe in Jesus, they just don't believe in hating others because of their sexual orientations or differing religious beliefs.

As far as his reference to racism goes I'm not even sure what he means. How exactly is a dictionary definition of racism different than what leftist believe? He doesn't bother with any clarity there but seems to insinuate that leftist are somehow hypocritical. He may have an argument, but its certainly not a leftist one.

In my experience, the only folks that use the term "SJW" as some sort of pejorative are blatant anti gay, anti anything not white, anti Mulsim bigots.

I think it is nothing more than a Stormfront meme meant to attack folks who do not share similar ideologies.
