Whoa! I assure you, I, never gave it anywhere near that much thought. I quoted "I" to emphasize it was "MY" opinion and, by implication, others millage may vary. Nothing so philosophical as your take.

Truthfully I don't think I've ever considered "my soul" when talking with anyone else, except a priest. And, even then it was when I was young and being indoctrinated corrupted by the Catholic church. Maybe because of that I consider my soul ... well ... mine, and no one else's business.

But, if President Biden decides to withdraw, then Gov. Newsom is the only other Democrat with the creds and recognition to step up. In spite of what he says (mostly to avoid a party rift and undermine President Biden), he'd take the nom.
