It is true. The overwhelming propaganda the media produces on this holidays makes people think like you, I understand it, but try to see my point... For example in my house I dont give my kids any gifts because life wont give them gifts either but they are very happy and are great students as well. There is a life beyond comunism imposed on us by the liberal mainstream media.
The media doesn't impose anything on you, you are autonomous. Not giving gifts just because it's free is cold. Gifts are given out of empathy and love, not because they're trying to destroy your work ethic. FFS.

Christmas is what you decide to make of it. I enjoy the warmth, the giving, the receiving. I don't see it as "handouts' but as gifts that I enjoy giving. If you don't want to give---if it brings resentment and doesn't feel right--then you shouldn't participate. Halloween is just plain fun.
By your standards, if giving gifts to your kids is 'communism', then so is feeding, clothing and housing your kids. Agree?
Kids should never be fed, clothed, and housed. It leads directly to communism and even liberalism. They could even fall to Buddhism or some other extremist cult like that. Plus if you feed a child they can become dependant on food and dependancy on food leads to food stamps 100% of the time. If you clothe a kid you remove them from healthy bactaria and then they'll be on Medicaid when they're 17 until death at 157. Houses make kids lazy. Housing is a gateway drug. Christmas is Islam by the back door. I could get used to satirical posting but I'd probably be banned within a few days.

Your irony is funny, nonetheless housing clothing and feeding your kids is called parenting wich the bible advocated for. Jesus said kids must be fed, he never said we should give them gifts. I remember one of my sunday school lessons, when I was taught how Jesus expelled the communists from the temple. We should all follow this example and expell comunism from our lives.
