Nazis were not Leftists

From time to time its important to remind folks that the Nazis were NOT Leftists.

The hard core Left believes in the following:

-abolition of private property.

-nationalization of all major industries and resources.

-international movement that ignores all cultural and national boundaries, to unite the workers against the wealthy class.

-all forms of bigotry, racism, national conflict are a tool of the wealthy class.

MASSIVE government. Socialist tendencies in themselves is very left. This "debate" has happened so many times here I'm surprised you never were involved.

They are of the same stripe. They both believe in a huge central dictating government.

 

Good question. If Hitler had given all the countries he invaded power over their own people, that would be right wing government (states). The left wing favors federal government control, which is how Hitler operated (he controlled his territories).

The Nazis were National Socialists. They weren't hardcore leftists, but were leftists nonetheless. They believed in socialized medicine, they nationalized many industries, and abolished most rights to free use of property.

throughout most of the planet Earth, the European understanding of Right vs Left is the accepted one.

That's fine. You asked what leftists traits the Nazis had, you were given answers. They have traits of both the left and right. It's factual, not opinion based.

Even though they sound almost similar, socialism and National Socialism are different political ideologies that first emerged in the 19th century. Yah, they called themselves Socialists, but Hitler made no bones about being anti-Communist. Socialist was just a sop to organized labor, I assume. The Nazi regime was more of a hyper-nationalist kleptocracy - they needed a public enemy to rally the Volk around, & the Jewish population was a good target, apparently. The Jews had nice houses, goods, servants, food & drink, jewelry, clothes, cars, artwork, books, musical instruments, all kinds of goodies that the Nazis could seize & distribute to their cronies, or keep for themselves. But the Nazis were broad-minded enough to accord any political opponents (or even bystanders) the exact same treatment - seizure of goods, disbarment from professions, from university &/or schools, loss of franchise, imprisonment or ransom, destruction of businesses, assault, exile, death.

If they were Leftists, it was a very peculiar ideological set - you could only qualify by Aryan (whatever that means) birth. Unless, of course, you brought military strength or force of numbers to the table - Italy, Japan, the Spanish volunteer forces, other auxiliaries picked up along the way, when the Nazis looked like they might actually have been Supermen & the coming thing.

 

If the Nazis were TRUE leftists, they would have hated Corporations, wealthy land owners, large privately owned industries.

They would have strived to break down national boundaries and bigotries.

Instead, the Nazis believed in one superior nationality, and all others were inferior, good only for slavery or extermination.
