Do you want to know what will happen in the NBA? It's impossible to rig every game in the NBA, but the league is crooked and does use the referees to rig certain games to help certain teams win. That's a fact. The NBA wants certain popular players to win. When certian players win - NBA makes more money - and it's throughout the world. It's a $billion dollar business. the teams in red are the ones that will advance. The NBA would love to see Cleveland advance to the finals with superstar Lebron James. There is no way in hell Toronto, from Canada will advance in the playoffs. That's the worst thing for the NBA and they will not allow it. James Harden is religious. He won't ever be allowed to make it to the finals - NBA won't allow it. And Golden state's two top players are half black/half white - not good for NBA. Golden state will never be in the finals - ever. Watch and see if my predictions are correct. Cleveland, Miami, or Chicago in the east. Oklahoma, San Antonio or Dallas in the west. That's what I predict. Eastern 1 Atlanta 2 Toronto 3 Chicago Gasol/Rose 4 Cleveland Lebron 5 Washington 6 Milwaukee 7 Miami Wade/Bosch 8 Brooklyn Western 1 Golden State Curry/Thompson 2 Memphis 3 Houston Harden 4 Portland 5 L.A. Clippers 6 Dallas Novitski 7 San Antonio Duncan 8 Oklahoma City Durant/Westbrook
it's actually a dumb thread. How can the teams with less wins win in the playoffs? but that's my predictions and I'm sticking with it.
Interesting takes on why teams won't make it. It's early but I think Cleveland takes the East and faces Memphis in the NBA Finals.
I would guarantee my Lakers in the Finals this year, but I'm sure the usher positions are all filled already. In the East, I'll be rooting for the Bulls & the Hawks & the Wizards & the Raptors - make that anybody but the Cavs, even the Celtics(ready to puke, now). Just call me a Hater. In the West, I'll be rooting for the Warriors & the Grizz - I can't stomach anybody else, except maybe the Pelicans - I just don't they're going anywhere & would hate for them to knock out G.S. & then be done. It all should be fun.
My Thunder will be confined to the bleachers or their own couches this year, so it really doesn't matter to me who wins as long as LeBron doesn't win it. Every day LeBron loses is a good day. That said, I will be pulling for my second-favorite team, the Dallas Mavericks, but I don't know if they have what it takes to get past Houston in the first round.
Washington Wizards vs. Toronto Raptors - Like watching paint dry. These two teams have to be better than this. Can't hit a wide open jump shot? Jump in the air & don't know what to with the ball? It's the playoffs - get with it!
If I were a Warrior fan, I'd be a little worried. The Wiz/Rap game was horrible. IF - huge IF - D.Rose can stay healthy(& their other important parts stay healthy for that matter), while increasing his minutes, I like the Bulls chances to make the Finals. Somewhat big IF though. What was up with the refereeing in the Rocket/Mavs game? Were they just trying to keep Dallas in the game?
Cleveland vs San Antonio in finals if Cleveland gets by Chicago in 2nd round, and if San Antonio gets by Golden State. Those are the 4 threats for the title, not Houston (in my humble opinion).
Along with those 4 teams, I give Atlanta, Memphis, Houston & the Clippers a distant shot - but I wouldn't bet on any of the four.
I would agree with you that those are the next wave of teams. Clippers are the real wild card in the West. They have the talent, and stuck it to the Spurs in game #1, but they've had this talent for a few years and have always gotten knocked out early. I'd love to see them take out S.A. but that's a tough task in a 7 game series even with home court advantage.
Considering that the Spurs have never repeated(as champs, at least) & the level of comp in the West, I half way expect them to get bounced by somebody. Why not the Clippers? If that does happen, the interesting part would be to see what the Clips do after that - would they just be happy with that or would they be a real live contender? I'm leaning towards them being too happy with themselves.
I predict I will not be anymore concerned about who wins than I was at the beginning of this stupid sport.
Tell us how you really feel! - - - Updated - - - San Antonio beats L.A. on the road last night in OT to even up that series, and steal home court advantage away from the Clippers. That's going to be a great series. Tony Parker left hurt, though. That could be a big factor in the series moving forward.
Well my Cavaliers are making short work of Boston. One more game then on to Chicago. New Orleans sure blew a golden opportunity yesterday to push the best record team in the league (G.S.) into a rough series. But when you can't hold a 20 point, 4th quarter lead, you're not deserving of anymore than one and done.

I just don't trust L.A. if they fall behind in the series, even if Tony Parker is a non-factor.
Read my reply #13 above. Said same thing. That's ok. Great minds think alike. The Clips could be in big trouble now after getting whupped in game 3. I would say that game 4 is a must, but that's rather an understatement.

Cleveland is screwed. Kelky Olynyk, nothing but a stiff and a scrub, yanks Kevin Love's shoulder right out of its socket. The pundits are criticizing Love for him saying it was intentional and dirty. But the replays and the pics don't lie. On top of losing him to injury, 2 more Cavs get suspended for retaliating, so Cleveland down 3 players (2 starters) for next series against Chicago. Cleveland is jinxed. They've had "the drive", "the fumble", and "the shot" that have broken fans' hearts. Now it's "the shoulder".
Here's a pic of the play. No ball; just yanking his arm and shoulder right out of its socket. Dirty play.
I'm not sure it was a dirty play, I just look at it as playoff BB, but I feel your pain. Do you think Perkins will be suspended? I'm not sure if Perkins & Smith were retaliating for what happened to Love. I just don't know. I think Smith is such an idiot, though. He escapes from NY & has a shot at a championship & he does something that is so stupid & could really cost his team. I heard that Love is out for at least 2 weeks. Other Cavs will really need to step up.
Yes I think it was a dirty play. Won't say he was trying to hurt him, but still a dirty play by Olynyk. To Smith, yeah that was dumb. But, to those saying Olynyk's play was just a reaction, I'd say the same about Smith. He was getting grabbed and shoved, reacted and whipped his arm around. Yes it was wrong, but a reaction like that doesn't mean he tried to cold (*)(*)(*)(*) the guy. Regardless, the NBA will suspend him, probably more than 1 game because of his history. Perkins hard screen was intentional. No doubt. But, that's a pretty common play. Regardless, Cleveland goes into the Chicago series down 3 guys.
Well looks like the Clippers find another way to lose. They drop the crucial game 5 to San Antonio at home on an offensive goaltending call at the buzzer. That's the Clippers for you. And looks like Kevin Love out for the entire post season. In addition to dislocated shoulder, there's also a torn labrum. Likely gonna need surgery, and the chance for Cleveland to end their 50 year championship drought takes a huge hit.
