It's that time again, college basketball fans - the best tournament in America is on! At this date, most of the conferences are still playing their tournaments. Here's who has already punched their ticket for the Big Dance: Atlantic Sun: Mercer Big South: Coastal Carolina Colonial: Delaware Horizon League Campus: Milwaukee Ivy League: Harvard MAAC: Manhattan Missouri Valley: Wichita State Northeast: Mount St. Mary's Ohio Valley: Eastern Kentucky Patriot: American Southern: Wofford Summit: North Dakota State West Coast: Gonzaga So, who do you like and who do you think is going to make a splash in the Big Dance? Good luck to all your teams unless you're playing VCU. GO RAMS!!
Uh, oh - we've got one of our first big upsets in the conference tournaments - this one from the Atlantic 10: St. Bonaventure knocks No. 17 Saint Louis out of A-10 tourney http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...ture-stuns-no-18-saint-louis-in-a-10/6422659/ Tough loss for the Billikens, but they're going Dancin' anyway...
NCAA March Madness http://www.ncaa.com/march-madness http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/ncaa-tournament This afternoon's Bracketology c/o Joe Lunardi: http://espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology ESPN's Men's Basketball: http://espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology
Anybody put a bracket in for the billion $ prize? I didn't waste my time. In fact, I'm not filling out a bracket period. I'll just sit back & scream at the tv for mostly underdogs to win. I'll be rooting for teams like Colorado, UCONN, Wichita St.(big time for the Shockers), Harvard & the Stephen F. Austin's(sorry Talon) of the basketball world. And I'll be screaming against teams like Louisville, Kansas, Duke, Kentucky, Michigan St.(pretty much against all the Big 10) & Florida. In a perfect world, it'd be a UCONN vs. Wichita St. Final...but I'm not holding my breathe for the Huskies & the Shockers have a tough road ahead of 'em. Enjoy the ride.
Hi arjay - I didn't put in a $B bracket, either. I guess it's too late now. As usual, I'll be pulling for VCU and this year I'll be rooting for Virginia, too. UVA is a team that intrigues me - they could definitely make a run for the Final Four but I don't think they can beat Michigan State (I've got the Spartans going all the way this year). There's not a lot of other teams I'll be pulling for - I guess I'll be rooting for some of our homies in the A-10, most particularly St. Louis and UMass. I'd like to see the Billikens turn things around and the Minutemen are an up-tempo team that's fun to watch. It will be interesting to see how far the Shockers make it - they got a really tough draw in the Midwest...
St.Louis, UMASS & New Mexico are some of the other teams I'll be rooting for. I saw the UVA/Duke game & was impressed with their(UVA) D(& coach after the game), but not so much with their shooting. My son says that he heard that only one team in the last few years has won the title scoring less than 72 points a game & UVA only scores 60 something. So their lack of scoring could be an issue. Good luck to your teams, Talon.
Way to go Huskies! Beating Florida will be a tough task, though. If I were a betting man, I'd go with an all SEC Final.
Any of the Final 4 are capable of being champions. With these 4, I'd love to see them all play each other much the way they do in World Cup Soccer.
WTF CBS!! Might as well put former Kentucky Wildcat Rex Chapman in a skirt and give him pom poms as he is easily the most biased broadcaster I've ever seen in a national broadcast with his cheer leading for Kentucky. I just heard him say he is supposed to be biased towards Kentucky! I don't think so. I hope there is a fire in the Kentucky locker room at half time. Let's see Chapman report that! Go Badgers.
Wow, I didn't see this coming. Although I go into every March thinking UCONN can make a run, I thought that the Michigan St. game would be their demise. Going into the tourney, I thought Florida was the best team & Kentucky had the most talent. All that didn't matter to the Huskies. Congrats & just WOW. Now GO LADY HUSKIES!!!
Actually, he was supposed to be biased toward the Wildcats. You were most likely watching the U of K broadcast of the game. TBS, TRUTV & TNT were all broadcasting the semi's. On my cable(Direct TV), TNT had U of F, TRUTV had UCONN & TBS had the National broadcast. I assume the 2nd game was setup similarly. Once I realized I was watching U of F, I switched it to the Nat telecast.
Congratulations, arjay! As was the case in 2011, that was another impressive postseason run for the Huskies.
