Recently Nebraska Democrats ran an ad with Ben Nelson. Sounds innocent enough. Problem is they obliterated the limit that could be spent on it.

You may be wondering how they got away with that one. Well they called it an "issue ad" instead of a "campaign ad" (despite the fact that Bill Nelson appears in the ad). Essentially, any ad with a candidate in it could be construed as an issue ad as long as they say it is an issue ad. Hell, the FEC might as well not exist.
