Remember the old D&D game Neverwinter Nights? Well the new Neverwinter game is like an updated version of the old game now in a persistent living and breathing world. For those who do not know what that is... it is an online game that can be played with others or you can be antisocial and go it alone with an A.I. companion. So far I been going the antisocial route and been having a blast.

Neverwinter is free to play but like many free to play games to unlock the best gear early on you need to spend real money, else you do it the old fashioned way and grind for money. Some may be put off by this, but it matters little to me as I do not mind going without the best early on... paying for great gear seems like cheating, so taking the time to make enough gold in-game is more to my liking.

If you are a fan of D&D, The Forgotten Realms or R.A. Salvatore you should like this game. This game is the best realization of The Forgotten Realms that I have yet seen. So what the heck, its free, give it a go and see what you think. Not sure if posting a link to the game breaks the forum rules... so if interested just google Neverwinter.

I used to play NWN2 on the RP servers. Is this game similar? Is there player driven roleplay? Or is it like WoW?

I only played NWN2 in SP. And yes, it in a way does remind me of WOW but as I have not played with any groups I am not sure how much like WOW it is or if it is different on the MMO side. I am liking the game, will play through all the content, but am still undecided if I will stick around and get involved with the player community.
