Lucky for the little guy he is here where at least he had a chance as opposed to Iceland where they would have just killed him. His name is Lucus. "What kind of society do you want to live in?": Inside the country where Down syndrome is disappearing "... but few countries have come as close to eradicating Down syndrome births as Iceland...." https://www.cbsnews.com/news/down-syndrome-iceland/ Eradicating little guys and girls like Lukus as a worthy goal. Amazing
I don't think I could even tell the difference between a baby with down syndrome and a regular baby. Those developmental differences don't really begin manifesting until later. Which begs the question, if a down syndrome baby is basically the same as a regular baby, then we are basically terminating them because of something that will develop later. No wonder then there are some bioethicists questioning the differences between aborting them inside and outside the womb.
Until pro-life people back up their spittle strewn screams with agreement to adopt the unwanted born and compensate the mother after gaining her agreement, they are imposing their opinion onto others with brutality. Such Ego driven self importance is quite simply....disgusting.
All because the woman doesn't want it. Whether that's a down syndrome baby or a regular baby, it shouldn't matter here, is that right? (correct I mean) If you believe the baby being down syndrome does constitute some further grounds for the woman aborting, please elaborate. (from what I see it shouldn't matter either way because the woman doesn't want it, at least as far as your argument goes)
Good, because it sounded like he was saying "How dare you force a woman to gestate, ESPECIALLY when it's a Down Syndrome baby!" By the way, here's a family talking to each other at the dinner table. Can you guess which one's the down syndrome kid? Ironically his brother, famed snowboarder Kevin Pearce, suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and spent months recovering to the point he could talk again (and he still doesn't talk 100% normal). But you didn't see his family trying to abort him!
Wow, that almost sounds like holding the fetus hostage. "Give me the money or the baby GETS IT !!!" Heck, if we start paying women a few of the lower income ones might even resort to churning babies out for profit. (Oops, already happening)
it neglects the part where leftist mom should be a responsible human being. Typical leftist cartoon. At some point the rest of us become responsible adults, the cartoon above unwittingly displays just how warped those that dont see its fault really are.
Giving this a bit more thoughtfulness, and recognizing as I do that DS children don't have the usual 3 score and 10, it's probably got something to with a parent fearing that the child might well end up in a 'care home', and we all know what happens in care homes to the most vulnerable people in society these days, don't we. See, that's the difference between rationalising and knee-jerk emotiveness.
Ironically the woman was perfectly happy gestating the baby, until she found out it had Downs. That's usually not till the second trimester. This isn't an issue of the woman not being willing to be pregnant, this is an issue of her discriminating against a child with Downs. (and like I pointed out before, how does that make a difference to her if somebody else is willing to take the baby?)
Downs is not relevant in the core of my statement and belief, which would be why it had no mention. But, as it is the topic of this thread I will address it. Any personal decision that will effect your entire life should be left up to you barring it negatively effecting another citizen physically. This is my opinion and has no detrimental implications for ANYONE, can you say the same?
