And yet you criticized Obama for not doing something that would have led to equally as evil injury and death for the Iraqi people suddenly abandoned in what you seem to think should have been an immediate withdrawal of US military forces from Iraq. Apparently, you pick and choose what "slaughter" will upset you, and what you'll use to score political gotcha points.

 

No you just can't bring yourself to admit Obama lied to get elected. People hated Bush because he did not end the war. Obama gets elected, promises he will immediately end the war….and three years later…and thirty thousand more troops sent over…and thousands more service people killed…..and the war was still going on? I was for the war in the beginning….and I was glad they took Sadam out. I believe in defending people who can't defend themselves. But this is not how the LEFT saw it. They did not care about the people Sadam was slaughtering….they hated Bush, stood with vile signs…picketing…and where were those people the first three years of Obamas presidency? This just shows that the issues do not matter….that there are two sides that hate each other no matter what. There is no working together across the aisle anymore..because there will always be that morality issue, two sides so morally opposed that there is no middle ground anymore. its about worldview…on the issues. You on the LEFT ARE THE ONES WHO DID NOT THINK WE SHOULD BE OVER THERE. THE DEMOCRATS, THE MEDIA, HOLLYWOOD….

 

Right, and many still do think that. But you're looking at this through extremely limited vision. Bush started that war. Of course people wanted him out. Only the most ignorant would expect an immediate withdrawal. Obama has wound down Iraq like he said he would, maybe not on the exact time-table he laid out in his campaign, but seriously, how often does a president get in office and do exactly as he said he was going to, even if he's genuinely tried?

And if you're thinking that people stopped protesting the war in Iraq as soon as Obama got elected, you're wrong there as well. Protesting may have wound down, but that's due in large part to the fact that the guy who started the war in the first place is not at the helm any longer. Most people understand the idea that change is not instantaneous, especially at the political level.

What I find to be really stupid about what you wrote is that you said you supported the war. Then, when Obama didn't immediately pull out, which would have likely caused quite a bit more internal strife and death than was already occurring(even though you specifically said you were glad that we took out Saddam because you believe in defending people who can't defend themselves), you are criticizing him, calling him a liar, as if you WANTED him to immediately pull out the troops from a war YOU SAID YOU SUPPORTED! That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, but judging by your usual debate tactics, that surprises me 0%.
