In other words, I'm basically having to help fund my own discrimination, via my state's funneling of my tax dollars to private organizations that are anti-gay.

Snyder's version of being a governor is to rubber-stamp most anything the GOP-controlled state house & senate pass - especially if it's anti-gay legislation.

    What a transparent lie.

As usual, Michigan is an outlier. It was the case with marriage amendments (we have one of the worst, second only to Virginia). Now we're at it again with this adoption RFRA. I shudder to think what's next.

Yep. Snyder has shown again and again that his words are utterly untrustworthy and meaningless political babble.

Like I believe his veto threats. Every time he has doubts about one of these laws, he ends up signing it anyway. No credibility whatsoever.

Snyder can say whatever he likes, but it's obvious what this law does, and who the primary target was:

There ya go. It's the Roman Catholic Church, at it again. They put up more than half the funds for our state's overreaching marriage amendment. No suprise that they're the force behind this new law.

The only saving grace. I remain skeptical.

Not exactly a small amount of money. And money is ultimately what this is all about. There is nothing to stop those agencies going private and funding their own services, so that they can freely apply whatever prejudices they like, if their real interest is their religious freedom. They shouldn't be able to do it on the state dole.

    Disgusting.

Pretty sure this one will be found unconstitutional at trial.

    Another lengthy and expensive fiasco.

Expect more if SCOTUS rules in favor of nationwide SSM.

If you're a talented, emerging, young lawyer with a taste for civil rights cases, consider your future nest roundly feathered.
