The debt ceiling deal has left the Tea Party more disliked than ever, as a recent New York Times poll shows. In April, 2010, 21 percent of Americans approved of the Tea Party while 18 percent disapproved of it. Now, 20 percent approve while a stunning 40 percent disapprove of it. Ironically, the conservative movement is now more unpopular than two often-marginalized groups it sometimes rails against — Muslims and atheists — and is the least popular of the 23 groups the poll asked about:

    Only idiots believe that stupidity.

S&P said 4 trillion in cuts, the tea party wanted 4 trillion in cuts.

Democrats only surrendered 1.5 trillion, and thats the only reason for the down grade. Its a failure by idiots in the democratic party.

    Thats all thats it.

If you really love America youll send the lairs packing... her lemme name a few...

    Nancy Pelosi
    Chuck Schumer
    Barney Frank

Personally, I think they should be tried for TREASON... Lets see if there are any sane democrats left...

I'm surprised that the Tea Party haters are only 40%.

The Tea Party wants to cut government spending when over 50% of the public does not pay any federal income tax yet sucks up most of the welfare.

The Tea Party is messing with Obama voters welfare money.

Mainstream Republicans are getting screwed. First Palin sinks the election for McCain and now the Tea Party is going to pull them down in 2012.

Go read some campaign literature - all parties want to cut government spending. So the Tea Party is the same as the rest. Oh except for the racism and stupidity.

I'd love to see the internals...I suspect, as this is the Times, they vastly oversampled dems, again, proving that, in the universe of dems, the Tea Party is unpopular.

And to recap on your obvious false statement...Obama was read to cut 4 trillion in exchange for closing tax loopholes. But of course the **********s stamped their feet like children. And the S&P never made that claim ever. Just more right wing extremist propaganda from you and your kind.

That's simply not true, Montoya. Saying Barack Obama was ready is like saying he has a secret plan for jobs. He's a lying worm. I wouldn't trust him even if he put it in writing and what he says is totally meaningless. And, question, Montoya, what does a cut in spending mean to Obama? It certainly doesn't mean spending less than we're spending now, does it?

And, **********s is a term that means people who enjoy oral contact with male genitalia so it more properly refers to liberals.

How does Montoya know that Obama was willing to cut $4 trillion in spending.

I never saw a bill passed by the Democrat senate with those cuts in it.

All we have is Obama's word for that.

    Which means we have nothing.

How do I know? because it made headlines a few weeks before the debt deadline. He agreed to 4 trillion in cuts and wanted to close tax loopholes for the rich. This is fact look it up. Shouldn't be too hard. This is why the entire country hates the **********s.

well sure he did!! why we have all the proof we need with his published proposed budget! oh right, he DIDN'T put out a plan did he?..no all he did, after the meeting say he was all for it..what did he actually offer in the meeting? who knows? but with his history of lying like dog, I would bet he sat there sneering down his nose saying "I'm the President, ya'll gotta sit in the BACK"

He could have put forward a budget anytime in the two years that he had a majority Democrat Congress, but he didn't, now did he? No, now he wants to claim he can't get stuff done because of them mean ol Republicans disrespecting him and blocking him.

    Fool.

and to claim that a handful of unpopular, uneducated rednecks from Tupelo somehow took control of the entire Congress by power of their incredible ESP powers (because I dont' remember there being anyone saying there had been an armed coup or anything) and forced them to accept a deal, is really desperate and pathetic.

I agree. The Tea Party started getting unpopular as soon as they won and started attempting to implement their plans. Suddenly people decide they really only meant to cut someone else's government money.

I don't understand why liberals want to throw in comments about oral sex in every discussion, what do they have against oral sex?

and what does it have to do with polit...oh WAIT!!

it's code for Clinton, right? because Clinton engaged in oral sex in the White House...so he is saying it is Clinton supporters that are stomping their feet? Even the Dems are turning against Obama??
