Newsmax Projects GOP's Glenn Youngkin Wins Virginia Gov. Race

Newsmax has projected GOP candidate Glenn Youngkin will defeat Democrat Terry McAuliffe in the Virginia gubernatorial election Tuesday night.

Decision Desk HQ also made its early projection via tweet at 8:37 p.m. ET. The latest AP ballot results from Virginia will be updated live here.

Based on the outstanding votes, Youngkin was favored to win by a narrow margin, according to election analysts on Twitter.

A McAuliffe loss in Virginia, which Democratic President Joe Biden won by a double-digit margin over Republican then-President Donald Trump last year, would represent a demoralizing setback for national Democrats. McAuliffe saw his lead in public polls evaporate in the campaign's closing weeks.

The economy and education being back the GOP in the suburbs. An African American female veteran as Lt. Gov and a Hispanic American son of an immigrant as AG. Both also Republicans

 

Hold it. Democrats haven’t found those boxes of ballots yet that were mysteriously overlooked and uncounted.

 

Will they pledge fealty to Trump or be turned on like so many other republicans?

That is the great nightmare is if it gets close enough for that to matter. Fairfax county is at 82% counted now though. Youngkin is getting 85-90% across the lightly populated southwestern Va.

 

If it reverses for Terry at this point, it’s pure fraud.

 

True. Richmond city is 80% counted and Fairfax is 100% so it’s all but over now. We even have a small lead in New Jersey for governor now.

 

I knew before 9 it was over for McCauliffe looking at the #s. No reason Fox/CNN should not have already called it

Once Youngkin crossed 1.4M it became unwinnable for the dems. That was half the turnout last time there was a governor election

 

McAuliffe took stage but no concession.

 

McAuliffe reportedly called Biden and he declined the call.

He could just be asleep.

 

CNN is hilarious.

 

Every time the crawl on tv updates Youngkin’s lead gets smaller. I’m concerned about another late night vote dump after the democrats find out how many votes they need.

 

Terry just came out and danced like an idiot. It’s almost like he knows the fix is in. This is unbelievable. It’s a 5 point lead.

 

The libertarian is holding at 0.7% so as long as Youngkin stays above 49.8% through the last 12% of the vote, he wins.

 

Do you expect real substantive change from Youngkin? The Lincoln project opposed him.
I wonder this if businessman understands what that means.

So VA is a state with a less than a certain % runoff?

At least it is 49.8% and not 50%, but regardless - not going to be an issue

 

I'm cautiously optimistic about tonight.

Apparently Youngkin flipped a majority black county and is up with women across the state.

Van Jones is freaking out and says Youngkin is the "Delta variant" of Trump.

When shown how far McAuliffe is underperforming compared to Northam, Jake Tapper responded with "Oh my God...".

They know what this means.

 

Notice how results have basically froze. Not good.

Obama, Biden, and Harris all shilled for McAuliffe.

They even played commercials in churches.

Regardless of how this goes top dems have to be freaking out.
